Possibly for sale...Cognoscenti Cue

I didn't make much of an effort to sell this cue last year but here I am again. It's in great shape. I've played it several times since I bought it new from Joe, but not once in the last 5 years. I don't hang out here much at all so nobody knows me. I'd be willing to use an escrow service for the right offer. I have a number in mind for this cue but not sure what it's worth now. I've had it over 10 years and sat with Joe and designed it with him when he was on Ravenswood. Either way, I am flexible and honest but am not giving it away. Save yourself the ridiculous offers, they will be ignored. The cue is in the 19oz range, I'd have to weigh it again. It has two shafts in very good condition, some blueing and comes with a Whitten case and a nice set of joint protectors. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have, just send them. I'm looking for cash only, no trades whatsoever.

VERY Nice cue...since you say you have a number in mind, why not throw it out there?

If you want to auction it, put it up on eBay. If you wanna sell it, put your price on it. I think it will sell quicker for ya that way.

If someone likes it and is looking for a Cog, they know how much they cost. I paid $4k for it around 1997. I don't really know what it's worth now. If it were a car, I'd put a price on it with the help of KBB, etc. I don't have a blue book for cues. For now, I will see if anyone is really interested in it.

Doesn't look like you're making much of an effort to sell it now either.

Look, here's the deal. If you want to sell the cue, then include all the pertinent specks like:

Weight, shaft diameter, tip type, etc.

and then put a price on it.

Your cue is not unique enough to warrant a "PM me with offer" type sale, as it's a Cog. It's a nice cog, but a *fairly* common design.

I'm not trying to bash you, but if you're not serious enough to list the specks and price, you are kind of wasting everyone's time, yourself included.
 
I just don't understand these kind of listings. If you want to sell something put a price on it? If you dont, don't post it.

To the person asking if it's still available, yes it. To the others that have nothing better to do but talk about not having a price, this is for you. I didn't put it on eBay because I didn't have a realistic price. That's why I put it on here. I was hoping that I'd get some good offers from real pool players. The cue cost $4000 new over 10 years ago, it should be worth ???? Exactly. So unless you have some advice, keep your comments about my post to yourself. I came here because I was looking for pool enthusiasts, not forum protocol experts.

Exactly the point, it cost that much 10 years ago when the cue market and the economy in general were strong. With the economy where it is the cue market has dropped out to almost nothing soooooo i wouldnt be expecting to make any profit on this cue which is what it sounds like you want to do.
 
Not trying to turn a profit, just not lose my ass. My intentions were to sell it I got a reasonable offer. I didn't so I still have it and didn't pursue it any longer.
