Post your "Break and Run" video...

I can't see these videos on my iMax. I can see the ones from youtube ok, but the sound is out of sync. I'm running 9.2 system so I can't upgrade the players.

Can you put them up on youtube?

Could you all mention what kind of camera you used for the videos? I'm considering buying one and would like to associate the brands with the videos.
Thanks,

I'm sure all of these cameras are capable of better quality than you are seeing here. The compression for internet really takes it's toll.

steven: nice run, some nice shots, really liked the run.

Gage: u can pot very well, but when u draw the cb to pot the 5 u ended way above the 6 in the middle. if i had kept the cb on the lower side, pot the6in the middle and automatic position on the 7. now u did overscrew it, potted the 6 and had to come 1 cussion, but u used outside instead of inside englisch. Outside would have left u with more room for errors as there was more space on the right side of the 7. still nice break and run, but if u do it the exact same way over and over, its a low % runout i think.

your potting is amazing, but u need to get your positional play and paterns trained.

thx for posting it :D i LOVE to watch these video's. ill post some too in some days if i can.

Very nice smooth stroke and follow-through. I wish I had that kind of stroke.

Your positional play seemed very risky, crossing the line of the shot frequently, and coming very close to over-running your shot several times. However, risky though it may have been, you never actually got out of position, and your speed control appears to be impeccable, as it needed to be getting from the 7 to the 8, for example.

FWIW, I didn't see him cross the line of position, I thought he played the rack correctly. The only dicey shot was going from the 2 to the 4 where he had to draw the rock a bit (probably because he got straight on the 2), but it was a nice recovery shot.

I'm not sure why everyone always says that slow rolling balls is so difficult, but I seem to have a natural affinity for still being able to stroke when playing a ball so softly so holding the cue comes pretty naturally to me.

And yes I meant to carom off the 6! The entire rack I was trying to make up my mind whether to do the carom off the 6-ball or try the combination. I figured the 6 was a little high off the pocket to control the 5-ball after the combination so I figured a soft carom would be able to still hold the 6 near that pocket and luckily it worked out perfect.

=D

Good job on the 1 holding it for the 3. Not sure you meant to hit the 6 with the 5 but it came out good anyway. Nice out!

Really excellent out Cheez Dawg!
I can't fault choice of shot at all. It did look like you nearly over pumped the 6 getting to the 7, but finished almost ideally. Also pumped the 8 to get on the 9 but it was into a safe zone. Beats getting a skid playing it soft.

Great path and speed execution, and a smooth stroke. Interested to know what level you're at....tourny successes?

Thanks for the kind words Colin! With a lot of my positional shots, I'm not afraid of a bit of a cut. I have a lot of confidence in my shot making ability.
As for my level, where I am located, there is no one who can really rank or rate me. This August however, I am joining the FSQB tour in Quebec. It's relatively close to where I am, and I think it will give me some really good experience playing against players like Alain Martel, Luc Salvas, Danny Hewitt, Jeff white, Martin Daigle, Harold Rousseau, among many other great players on the tour.
I am in the process of posting the other 10 outs from that session. Some pretty ones, and some very ugly ones.

Just in case some people didn't see my videos.

Any hint on editing a large divx file ?
I use software called ULEAD that came with my camcorder. I don't know a lot about it, but I'm able to extract video segments and save video into other formats.

If your looking for some 9 ball, come down to Ottawa sometime. There is a league called the ABO that runs out of Hull in the fall/winter. There are some very good shots around the area. http://www.billardquebec.com/abo/New_page_abo/assoc_outaouais.htm

Also, the Kanata Broken Cue will be having a weekly 9 ball tournament on Sundays this summer. I know of two very good people that plan on playing. Could be some fun for you also and you definitely would get your speed rated :) Based on that one out, it looks like you could compete with anyone around here.
