Ah! Yep, split-quoting / double-quoting would've definitely made it more clear. Certainly, with her great performance last year, Jasmin not only deserves a spot, but also a headline mention/picture on the poster.

<cracks up> :D Actually, I didn't precisely say "Yu Ram doesn't deserve an 'invite'," (although even getting an invite warrants a raised eyebrow). Rather, that it's very questionable whether she deserves a headline mention/picture on the poster. Invite? Well, er... em... uhh... aw shucks, ok. Maybe. But headline position on the poster? Absolutely not! Her name doesn't belong in the same breath as the other six: Thorsten, Niels, Jasmin, Oliver, John S., and Danny H. All the other six are well-established straight pool champions and powerhouses. Yu Ram is a pure 9-baller, with absolutely no accomplishments in straight pool whatsoever. Her performance last year solidifies this, and even bears out her unfamiliarity with straight pool. (Not to belabor the point, but I mean, come on, who uses a jump cue in straight pool??)

I actually find it *FUNNY* that D.P. had the cajones to put her name in headline position on the poster! I can almost hear Michael Buffer's voice... "And now, entering the arena for the World Straight Pool Championship, among a bevy of straight pool powerhouses, Yu Ram Cha!! L-l-l-l-lets get ready to push oooouuuuuuutt!"

EDIT: A note to head-off those pedants who want to point-out to me that there's no "push out" in straight pool. Yes, I *know* there's no "push out" in straight pool -- I regularly play it. Please re-read the post, see the forest (not an individual tree), and get a clue of what's being directly and indirectly stated here.

Yes, it would be. I mean, DAMN, how long can a person let themselves get bashed and degraded and just post as if they were some type of a robot? Maybe that is exactly the case. D.P news is a BOT??!!
 
I understand why Cha is on the poster. People love watching her play. If she is going to increase ticket sales in a sport that is barely able to make ends meet then it's a no-brainer.

In much more successful sports rarely are you going to see the top 6 seeds on a promotional poster. You will see the popular athletes.

We just saw in a poll how much people want to see man vs woman in pool. And Cha looks good up there and regardless of what game she was playing she is now remembered for upsetting top males in pool. Excellent choice to put her up there if your goal is to sell tickets. It's all about what the masses want to see.

Good marketing.
 
I'd love to see Jenna Jamison on that poster! Just have a pro show her how to bridge, stand...etc...

Why isn't she invited? It would be great marketing, no?
