Near total miscategorization & distortion.
Like I said a police officer arrested me for having words in my mouth that did not belong to me.
Bruce,
Please see post #99.
Must...... Restrain....... Self....... From....... Making..... Joke....... Rick..... Mouth...... Aarrrghhhhhh.......
Well, I tried.

Apparently I have more restraint & good will than you.
So I was playing snooker with an instructor all morning that taught me when I was a kid. He's been teaching for over 40 years and is regarded highly among the snooker world. We took a half time break for lunch seeing as he's getting oldduring that time I thought I'd ask him what he thought about different stroke and why he taught me the stroke he did.
The answer he gave was simple; it has few moving parts and is the easiest to reproduce time and again, especially under pressure.
Then I thought I'd enlighten him to AZB...nearly gave the old boy a heart attack from all the laughter! He found it hilarious that people were getting this irate. He said what does it matter if a stroke is straight or if its S, Z or W shaped? All he actually cared about was that a stroke should be repeatable, especially under pressure. If your stroke goes up or down you can adjust your start point to compensate, he said. He also added everyones stroke doesn't hit where they intend, but you can get close enough that it doesn't matter.
I felt like standing up and giving him a round of applause. I didn't - I um, 'let' him make an 86 break against me instead
This BS has gone on too long. And yeah, it is BS either way you look at it. Its not helping anyone, and no one has come out looking a better man.
Never thought I'd say this, bet where are the Johnny Archer threads at?![]()
Let me guess, you're the most humble person you know, too..
Edit: If you can't understand how your comment is back-handed, just go away.
I totally understand what it was.
It was in response to what?
Why don't you go away?
What was that?
There are TOO many on AZB that want to play on their own private One Way Street.
They want to launch but they don't want any return fire. You would know.
Or...is that what they really want & live for? The confrontation, so as to create the opportunity to display what they think is clever & makes them a better person. See above.
Look how this thread & others are derailed by all of the personal 'assaults'. Just because you like the general ones doesn't mean they're any better than personal ones.
I'm a responsive person. That can be an Achilles Heel & can make me a target for those that want the confrontations. If responsive means you like to start arguments, I agree.
Why can't we just all talk about what is supposed to be the subject of this site, Billiards? AND do so civilly?
No. Instead many just act like spoiled adolescents. Yes, like not listening to reason, not answering questions when asked, etc.
I'm not directing any of that to you. I'm just speaking in general. See above. Ironic that you ended this with what I said.
You are right in that no one comes out the better man for it. I have always taught my kids that if you get in the mud, you are going to get dirty no matter what your intention is. I knew that going in, and accepted it. My part was never about me. It was standing up for what is right, and not allowing someone else to constantly spread distortions and outright lies. My hope was that when proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be wrong, Rick would man up and stop his vendetta. I freely admit, I was a fool in thinking that. He is who he is, and has stated that he will not change. Will not admit to being wrong, will not apologize, and will continue on with his charades. Which he has already done in other threads.
A few of us thought we could change the forums for the better and put a stop once and for all to the nonsense on here. I guess we were fools.

I am looking for guidance here.
As I said, I am looking for guidance here, but this thread may help others as well. I know I am setting myself up for some flack but I am sincere. So, I will probably only participate if I have questions
Thanks in advance to all that respond.
No one thinks you are fools for trying to educate people. In a way, that applies to Rick, trying to satisfy his perception as well.
The point is what is anyone "proving" with the non-stop firing at each other? It appears that the point has been proven. It also appears that disparaging one another isn't likely to change anyone's behavior....
Oh well, carry on. There was plenty of good info in here. The only "foolish" parts were in the interactions, not the actual information discussed.
Rick, I've seen all the posts.
I think the subject has been exhausted.
:deadhorse:
There is some good information to be had from these demonstrations by myself and Oldschool.
Too bad there is so much background noise.
For me, FLOSS shows the mechanical advantage of using as short a bridge as possible.
As to the background noise....
My reply to question in NPR thread, What constitutes trolling?

I blocked you because you constantly take threads off topic and post back and forth with whom ever you are bickering with at the time. Creating a tremendous amount of background noise.
Why do you keep arguing with people? Why don't you answer questions that are asked in seriousness? And lastly..
What have you done in your "47 years of experience" that warrants you being taken seriously?
I might have missed it among all the back and forth... (And I purposely avoided these pendulum debates over the last couple of years because I saw they just turned into arguments, like aiming threads do). But this thread has some good scientific information in it.
Greg's and Oldschools posts show a "nearly straight" path of the tip for a few inches.
I suppose the advantage of this is it affords a sweet spot where if the CB is struck in that range of a few inches, it will be struck very close to the intended spot. In my opinion, to maximize this potential, the CB to tip collision point should be exactly in the middle of the sweet spot. Do others agree with this collision point location? And if so, what conditions of bridge, elbow, and grip, get the collision point in the middle of the sweet spot?
One last post in this thread for you Greg.........
