Well that proves a good workout for this Grampa.
Big plus for the combined Therapy. Relearning things I thought I knew.
This shot has me playing. Thought they called this a workout.
The angles then velocity then observe(I like to watch) how the change effects the angles.
Like playing a violen, rehearsal the scales moving up and down the rail and still get the hit. What fun.
Colder weather slower start:
"I can't beat your slow game." Is my favorite quote.
Finding my balance took a little longer this morning. Lefty closed station 1 with a 7-11. First a 4 then 7 to lead 11-0. Oooops Right serving 2 rails to the red stripe 11 ball.
Station 2 provided a study of speed and spin. Finding and using the smallest amount of deviation from pure center. Right starting to pick it up after a series of deuces hits a 6. So Lefty 11 serving 10 to the orange stripe 13 on the King pad.
Using the 3 rail formula I got from Willie Hoppie in Billiards As It Should Be Played. It works nicely for a 3 point hit out of the gate. Lefty did it. So leads 14-10. 6 or more required to close the door.
Right finds the 6 but trails by 3.....carry on. This is fun and edumacation .
What a workout for me. Finding the speed was elusive. The Right built a lead with less than 6 point innings. The mercy rule could have been invoked. Lefty at least wanted the closer. He got it! So off to the day we go. High Hoe, high hoe.
One hand Clapper or perhaps using the camera as a tool. The 10 second timer gives time to assume the set position . Wait for the click....play the shot. An artificial delay but helpful in setting the tempo. My delay is to allow the computer a final OK handing the trigger finger the fire at will. At station 1 the fingers and hand are cuffed to the chest and eliminated from the exercise.
The bonus is the review.
First Lefty .
For this exercise I like to use the nipple to set the finish position. Where my intention is to finish every shot at that point. It gives instant feed back if I am off on the finish for each shot. Try it you'll like it. Shrug
Using the entire upper body weight to take the shot.
Right closed The Baby shot, 1 rail to the 9 ball. Now 2 rails to the red 3 ball. The cue is balanced and the picture demonstrates the optimal way to find the balance of the cue on the ball.
Sunday funday. 10.22.23
Finding the balance. Is an exercise in precision. Multitasking, sort of mental and physical therapy. Helps me find my best stance as it might take a while to balance the cue. Makes me aware of the importance of precision, along with ways to gain mechanical advantages. (Some would call it cheating. I call it Jui Jitsu. ) So the Scotch bright pad on the rail is like ....uh training wheels.
Playtime tropy: A security concern aborted the morning fitness. So upon resumption, Lefty hit a Maximum going 2 rails to the 8 ball.
The record gets an asterisk, as i/we had agreed to full form. (Chin on the cue). Now to find a 3 or more rails to the 15 King ball. The Maximum to the 8 ball was 11.
2 rails
3 for kiss
6 for both in holes.
So only way to close station 3 is 12 or more. Hmmmmmm??????
