Sunday Funday:
The pace, I can go too slow. Most often the overcut can be attributed to too much ring finger. He's the lead, not the lone ranger.

For me, forcing the rythem doesn't work. I need to be immersion to the process. Some steps deserve more time at times. Makes for a work of art in the dancer. Win or lose I will strive to put on my best performance. Mo Norman's distaste for center stage, is something I recognize and had to struggle to embrace the inner exhibition ist.🤷😉

Playing in the A-B-C realm; a strong performance can disable the opponent. Doing something they can't do is part 1 part 2 is composed attitude. Never show weakness in demeanor. That is my version of the Mental game.
Distraction is the beginner method. Bad Karma.🤷

Ok, story time:
Showing off for the girls was my first motivation in taking up pool. Seems normal as the youngsters paid $52 to try to show off for the Ladies league.
Oh yeah, the dance. Anderson Moose had a Sunday Mixed partner tournament. The gals pulled the partner s number s. The guys paid the cheap entry. Buy backs were allowed and almost always employed to make for a Funday. Didn't take long to have fun with the girls.
Funny thing about the looks from the Former Champ.😉

Just knowing to wait is a beginning. I need to know that the waiting is to give the fine brush work of the cue through the ball the attention it deserves. I hate it getting caught by the, "ready, shoot, aim.🤷"

Tickle the Ivory:
Current therapy has me focus on finesse over power. The left wing is coming along but is a long way from 100%.
The fine shot is often overlooked while the power shot is hard to disguise. How does it go? " He ain't that good, he never made a hard shot.!"

In passing I did observation of first dart lesson by the house pro. The student was seated in a reversed chair, with the elbow on the back. Throwing the dart with no movement past the elbow.
I have tried to emulate that in my morning practice. No movement past the elbow being forced by the damage to the shoulder. I am pleased with the results.

Short precise cue ball placement was what I saw watching Ray Martin play 9 ball in Reno.
Kinda why I say, 9 ball is the young man's game. 8 ball is the old man's game.

it must be, i still cant figure out what this is all supposed to mean lol
Don't figure any of us are, well, maybe the Air Farce stories. but, ramblings are just that,
ramblings. The only one that needs to be made sense to is the originator. I find some
interesting observations being made. One simply needs to separate the wheat from the
chaff.

Kind of like panning for gold. Gotta wash a lot of rocks..... but when you find a nugget it was worth the effort. 👍

They have Twitter and Facebook for that lol

Tells and half the game is 80%mental:
Rickie Henderson had a tell. When he was going to run, he flexed his fingers. The catcher that related the story finished with, "there wasn't a thing I could do about it.," 🤷
I try to tell a story with my composure in competition. Tiger on the front and Jack Rabbit on the back. Was proclamation of young Asian uh understudy. I wear that shirt proud.😉

There are lots of ways to fight. I prefer mine on the table. The story of the farmer going to face the Samurai, is one of my favorites. Being aware of his lacking skills as a swordsman, he resolved to Die With Honor. Upon entry to the arena, the Samurai could see the resolve in his manner. He there upon declined the battle.
Rambling on...........

Oh shit story time already.
The power of the FUNda mental s:
As a Cadet in intermural sport, I played Lacrosse. I had never heard the word. In a 6 week segment. I had to learn. I was the team leading scorer. Because I had no coordination throwing the ball with the net thingy. The defenders had long handle and offensive players had short handles. The defensive tactics required bumped sticks. I had teams best endurance, so was mid fielder. Going both ways with a mid size stick. If you had the ball, they could do anything except swing the stick like a bat.
My scores came as a result of my incompetence. I would be aiming for over their left shoulder. As it was available for a fastball. My inability to handle the throwing instrument(cue stick), led to the ball staying in the net long enough for the fastball to strike the ground at the perfect short hop distance to get the bank to the lower left corner. Seems Efren observation of lesser players led to some shots that he perfect.
