Practice practice practice

My practice is oriented to the first shot.
Getting out if the chair and approach to table.
At top level it could be only shot.
One for all the money is a favorite.
Any who, the change of focus from monitor to table is good uh practice, practice practice. 🤷‍♂️

My degree in sports psychology proof positive of first impressions. So treatment of each shot exactly the same can lead to accomplishment.
So accepting practice with a known flaw is Sooooooo counter production.
The Pool Gawds just rewarded that thout with a Maximum.....Lefty of course. That was 10 points to the dirt color 6 ball. Now to find 2 to the teal 2.

Lefty insisted on a sympathy photo. Oh just that much short of back to back maximum. Notice the tackle involved.

The morning after, the night before. 😉
Had fun at leagues. 🤷‍♂️
Did some things well but slipped and fell.
Now to learn from it and do better next time.
The morning results after going 3 rails to the dirt color 14 on the 5 point king pad.

Off to the day. 👍

Greg?

You still looking at the CB last? Sure hope so because that's obviously the way to go.

r/DCP
Absolutely ☺.
The Kicks Challenge is dependent on a precise strike to the cueball both in location and velocity. My practice proves that I get the best precision focused on the path of the tip through the ball at strike.
While I notice a variation in the eye pattern of the snooker players, the ones exhibiting the best cueball control seem to be on the white at strike. With Stephen Hendry and Ronnie O'Sullivan examples I expect more young and rising players to follow their examples. Luca Brecel seems to be . 🤷‍♂️
The most recent match between Mark Williams and Mark Selby had Williams putting on display incredible precise control of the white. While he often uses eyes closed or look away for exhibition shots, Williams usually tips off his eye pattern with the movement of his brows.

I never practice. I also don’t practice fishing in the backyard or ball hockey or playing my guitars.

At 66 I have fun. I may be the 399th best snooker player in the world and no real desire to move up to 350. In Anerican Pool it would be even less incentive...who cares who is 98th?

Over the years I’ve improved skills by making up a variety of unique games that are fun in themselves. Practice for the sake of it would get dull...just like kids are turned of playing music by repeating scales.

The reason there is a million ‘how to’ videos’ is most dabblers follow one regimen for a couple weeks. Lets it slide then searches for the next ‘best big thing‘. Every new system or drill is the ‘best ever’ until the new one next week.

Funniest are all the players who claim to practice religiously but then still search for the magic cue and tip so they can actualky sink a ball.
so I guess no great player ever practiced. Did drills. Worked on their weak areas of the game. Was choosy about what cue or tip made them most comfortable They just showed up at a pool table one day. Picked up a cue and suddenly they were world champions. 🙄 maybe you’re an idiot savant. Most aren’t and we have to work at it. If you don’t enjoy doing drills or practice that’s cool. Im happy playing the game whether I’m competing or doing drills. It’s my place of peace but why do you need to put down people who do ? Your last passive aggressive sentence putting people down for looking for the equipment that makes them most comfortable and confident makes your entire post worthless and honestly idiotic.

Practice as a noun:
the actual application or use of an idea, belief, or method, as opposed to theories relating to it.
"the principles and practice of teaching".
Or as a verb:
perform (an activity) or exercise (a skill) repeatedly or regularly in order to improve or maintain one's proficiency.

So my practice is my normal fitness program. Usually about an hour first thing in the morning. Sometimes a little longer if I find an interesting Challenge. I enjoy a challenge, well usually. 🤷‍♂️ The successful completion is fun. Sometimes just the things I see and learn in the pursuit of perfection is rewarding. On occasion my chores at home will cause me to postpone the table time. However if and when I am looking to get to Carnegie Hall. It's morning noon and night. Hence the Practice Practice Practice.
The collateral effect of my morning fitness program is I perform better on "the fields of friendly strife."
General Douglas McArthur said:
On the fields of friendly strife are sown the seeds that on other days, on other fields will bear the fruits of victory.

Here's the Deal:

My random placement of the pads is achieved by sailing the pads at the center of the light and let 'em fall where they may.
This morning's challenge is long and hard for the first station. One handed, jacked up and very rewarding. Fun in a masochistic way. 😉

Having the English Open playing on the monitor gives me a good chance to learn. As Yogi said, "observe a lot by watching." This gives me practice of refocus after interrupt. (You know, the shark movements) 😉
Practice of the first shot of the rest of the match. First impressions are So Important.

Luca Brecel playing this morning in the English Open, with Grandmasters comments is a great chance to learn. Perhaps hopefully validation of my theories. 😉 It takes longer to break a habit than to establish one from ground zero. 🤷‍♂️
Luca zips through 4-0 over Asif. Watching Luca is like eating candy for me.

CBL is fine for some. I tried it yrs ago and couldn't make a ball. Not for me and many others FAR better than I. Use what you like. BTW, i've watched a fair bit of snooker and it looks to me that a lot of player's eye movements are such a rapid back-n-forth that clearly discerning exactly where they are looking when they pull the trigger is almost impossible. What we think we do vs. what we really do are quite often not the same. On a lot of shots it sure looks to me that they are looking at OB when hitting.

"Inthe Zone" is great fun. Finding the entrance to the Zone is the challenge.
Security alert: Classified information. 😉
The entrance to the zone can be found Center Ball. Once inside the sphere slight application of rotation influence can be applied.

I concur 😉 their eye movement, especially Ronnie's is often so quick and subtle that I only hazard a guesstimate on some. With Stephen Hendry speaking to it along with attesting to Ronnie doing the same.
Uh oh Ronnie is up on Matchroom.....gotta go.

The outstanding camera work and commentary makes this such a bargain at $5 a month.
Lessons that, well can't be found anywhere else.

I See ! Matchroom has just given good looks at the eyes of Si. He seems to be emulate Ronnie. Would fit with Ronnie working with Academy in China.

I see Ronnie shaking the elbow. He should immediately switch to the Left. He's capable of Centuries with the left.

The inspiration watching Ronnie is leading to me exceeded my expectations. The treetopped one handed is fun.
Right leads 7-0 with a 4 and a 3. Right out of the gate. Oooops I forgot the brag alert. 😉 🤷‍♂️
