Im wanting a "sneaky pete" with 4 veneers. Sounds like getting a blank built by Prather is my best option? What experience does everyone have with these? From my phone call they told me both ends of the points are sharp.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

Tell them you are going to put a review of it here so it better be good. ;)

A lot depends on who is building the blank, what woods and how long dried and so on. I would say that a quality 4 veneered full splice blank should be worth 5 to 700.00.

They just started it.
Most old titlist with those veneers go for around 390-400 in the used market.
Billiardcue.com chargest more.

Hey dickie,

Do you know anything about the blanks prather makes with the veneers?

If i decide to get one I would like you to do the building of the cue.

Thanks,
Ian

Well they quoted me 240 for any wood besides ebony and 4 veneers of your choice. 4 week turnaround. She is sending me a catalog and as long as they are sharp at both ends (which she said so) Im gonna order one next week.

I might order one next week.
Make it into a billiard cue for a friend who's willing to fork out the right dough for it. :)

I have seen the blanks in person at Valley Forge, and they seemed like a great deal for the money!!

Rodney,

were the bottom points sharp?

Ian

Yes, top and bottom points were sharp. I believe they were $240 at the expo too, and they sold quick.

I also seen them at the expo, and they were very good, and they were sharp on top and bottom as Rodney said. I bought all the butterfly ones, but they were done by Mike Stacey from Indy...Stole them for $50 each.

Hello,

I'd give Mark Bear A call or email, he's been making quality full splice butts for awhile now and the prices are close.

I have been a fan of full sliced cues for some time. Owning two hercek's and two tascarella cues i think they make the best hitting cues. I just bought for $330 the sneaky pete that predator sells. It is a full splice rosewood cue made by falcon of canada. The cue weights in at 19oz even with no weight bolt in cue and has very tight and even points with 4 veneers. I dont really care for the shaft so im going to have somebody make a reg shaft for it so i can see how it compares to my other cues. If i knew how to post pics on this forum i would post some of the cue.

No weight bolt?
Stainless collar?
Indian rosewood is very light. Pred shafts are also very light.
That cue has at least 1 oz of weight bolt on it if it doesn't have an ss collar.

14.7 for butt 4.3 for shaft and it does have stainless joint.

UPDATE****

I placed my order for a full splice blank (with veneers) exactly 2 weeks ago.

I was told on the phone it will take about 5 weeks for the blank to be ready Well today I get an email stating the blank was finished early and was shipped today. SWEET!

So in a couple days I will have a rosewood butt into straight grain maple forearm with black, red, blue, natural veneers.

NOW THE BIG question....How should I have this cues "finished"

heres what im thinking right now.... ss joint, black/silver joint rings. a small rambow buttcap.

Any input would be appreciated on how everyone would have this cue finished. My only requirement is NO WRAP.

Thanks in advance....
