Prayers

My prayers are definitely with Abigail and her family. Cancer is so tragic for everyone but especially for our children.

Prayer Changes Things

You got it Tim. My familey will pray for Abigail and her familey. Thank you for the opportunity to express Gods love for them. As always, you have come thru again.
Peace, Don P.

I believe in miracles and Abagail can survive this! Look what happened to Lance Armstrong. Wow. May God's love and mercy prevail.

Prayers go out to the little girl and Her family. It's sad to hear anyone have to go through this, much less a child that young that has just begun to start their life. Will pray for the best, a strong recovery, and Her family's strenth through these times.

Greg

Prayers going up for Abigail and her family right now, and thanking God for complete divine healing for this little one, comfort and strength for the family, all in the name above all names, Jesus Christ. AMEN.

Skins, be strong for Abigail & her family, and for yourself too. My thoughts are with her & everyone there.

My thoughts will be with those affected, and I hope for a complete remission to happen and quickly. I am not a strongly religious person, but I prayed for her last night, and also for my friend who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia.

One thing that can be done to help those with bone marrow and blood cancers, is to join the national donor registry:

http://www.marrow.org/DONOR/index.html

It was something I admit I was scared to do, but it can really help save someone's life, which makes it a fear that I felt was worth facing.

I wish good luck to this wonderful little girl and her family in such a difficult time. I know you'll stay positive and strong to help them through this.

Update

here is an update on little Abigail:

Hi everyone--

Oh, what a busy week, but oh, what a strong girl we have here! AND oh, the sweet power of your prayers!!!!!

Monday was a LONG day of waiting. Abigail had blood drawn at 7:30 a.m. to see if her counts were ready for the stem cell harvest. They like the peripheral counts to be at least 10; Abigail's were 394! Needless to say, she was ready for harvest! It was just a long time of waiting for the machine and room. Once settled, and hooked to the machine, Abigail was able to nap through most of the process. She was admitted overnight in preparation for a second day of stem cell harvest and to receive a unit of blood.

Tues. a.m. we got the news that the goal from a stem cell harvest is to collect 5 (times 10 to the sixth power) and they collected 24 (times 10 to the sixth power) from Abigail on that first day--the most they'd seen! Needless to say, there was no need for a second day of harvesting! Abigail did have a CT scan and a bone scan before we left the hospital on Tuesday. She was perfectly still for both scans and the staff was very impressed at how well a child her age gets through these tests.

On Wednesday, we went back for the day to have Abigail's bone marrow test, and while she was under sedation for that, the pheresis catheter (the second line that was placed on Friday) was removed. Abigail also had part one of the MIBG bone scan, for which she was also able to remain so still--impressing everyone again!

Today (Thursday) was part two of the MIBG bone scan, and once again, she breezed through it.

Michael and I both recognize that the power of all your prayers really helped us through this week with the amazing stem cell numbers and the very strong and brave Abigail (and parents too, for that matter)! We thank you so much for being here for us.

We'll need you to keep it up as we prepare to enter cycle three of chemotherapy on Monday. This cycle will contain a pretty serious chemo. drug that not only should do its job on the cancer, but has some potentially serious side effects. One pretty common and most immediate will be the nausea and loss of appetite, the others require monitoring Abigail's hearing for some possible permanent hearing damage and monitoring her kidneys as well. We know that your prayers will help us conquer these side effects.

With the things that Abigail went through this week, most of her reserve blood supply from the direct donor program was used. She still has one unit left. If you are interested--look at the information for blood donation on Abigail's AMOR website: www.amorabigailmendoza.com. She'll most likely be needing blood and platelets around May 4th. Thank you!

We appreciate your prayers, love, and support so much more than we can ever express!

With much love,

Judy, Michael, Abigail, and Amanda

i beg, please keep this little one in your thoughts and prayers as i believe they outweigh any adversity faced.

There are no time limits on our thoughts & prayers, they're always there. Thanks for the update, Skins.

Has anyone else noticed that when AZBer's are called on for support it seems to have a good outcome? I'm thinking there are a lot of good people here, who are always ready to help anyone out. I'm happy to be a part of this place.

Thanks Tim!

Yeah buddy, Prayer Changes Things! Miracles happen! We will continue to pray for your friends and thank God for this past week.
Don P.

PS: You just made my day my friend!

Our prayers are with Abigail, all the way from Ontario Canada.

Be strong Abigail.

From Lisa, Paul and Brendan

Prayers winging your way for complete healing and continued success to this brave little girl and her family.
