Could anyone give me the OD of the brass pilot on a factory 5/16x14 predator shaft? I searched and couldn't find it.
Thanks
He's talking about the pilot of the insert.I have one that is .840...Some varyalittle Im sure <<<<ED
I'm pretty sure they are slightly smaller than .50 just looking for an exact measurement
It just has to be smaller than the entrance to the hollow recess in the collar.
There is no exact measurement though most are in the .465/.470" range.
The brass nub, or pilot as you call it, does absolutely nothing other than to hang in a hollow void in the joint collar and makes no contact with anything. There is no purpose to it other than to prevent the shaft from being used on a flat-faced joint.
So whether it's .470" or .370" doesn't make any difference.
It just has to be smaller than the entrance to the hollow recess in the collar.
if the nub does not make contact then what is the point at all for having it
