My next buy is going to be a Predator Air jump cue, or a jump/break cue, can anyone give me a review of the Predator Air, I want to wait on getting a jump/break if I can because I want to get a BK2 eventually but its just not in my finances right now, because I just bought my Predator playing cue. But I am open to the idea if there is a jump/break that performs very well as both.

So what are the likes or dislikes about the Predator Air?

Im saving up for both the bk2 and the predator air, i have broke with the bk2 and its by far the best break cue out there but i havent tried out the predator air but if there is a big billiard supply store around you theyll let you try them out, ive had a lot of j/b cues and i now believe you need to cues for 2 different functions you dont see a golfer putt with the same club he drives with. but if you find out first about the air let me know.

good luck.

Can do, I don't know when I will get it but it is going to be my next buy I think, if the tournament next week turns out and I come in first, then I will have it in a couple weeks. I haven't tried the BK2 yet but I can't find a person or non-manufacturer bias person that has a bad thing to say about it.

Thats kind of how I felt about my cues I want one or two for playing, a good break cue, and a good jump cue, not any kind of mixture of them, like a house cue that is a player/breaker, or a jump/break cue... I would rather have a few "tools" that do what their supposed to do well than one that does everything mediocre.

Sooo.. now I'm decided I'm not getting a jump/break...

Thanks

I like the Predator Air. It jumps very easily and effortlessly. I personally rather carry a jumpbreak, thats the only reason I am going to get rid of mine.

predator air

i own a predator air . i think it's the best jump cue on the market. the only thing i do care is after you jump with it for a while the tip gets real shiny an does want hold chalk real well. i change my tip to a bunjee it made the cue jump even better. just my 2cents professor

Thank you for your input.

I have not tried the Predator Air jump cue, but I do have the BK2. I think the best break/jump cue out there has got to be the Sniper II. Explosive breaks and jumps great.

I wonder why Predator does not make a jump/break rather then having 2 separate cues for each function.

Well the predator air seems like an awesome jump cue, because you can remove the back end and have an even lighter jump cue which is for close or high arc shots, and keep the back end on for med-long jump shots, and i dont think you can achieve this function with a jump break unless you make it really light weight to begin with and make the butt section break down into three pieces instead of 2.

But i wonder if the BK2 would still be such a powerhouse if it was a jump break....?

I have a pred air, jump great but I rarely use it since I kick like chuck norris. I'd like to trade the pred air for an ob-1 shaft if anyone is interested, holler.

I did not know that dustin. Thanks for the info. I don't have a billiards store near me so I have never really looked at one. Though I have used predator playing cues for years I have never been able to bring myself to paying that much money for a break or jump cue. I am just cheap I guess. :D

Well since you play with a predator you aren't cheap, haha non of the predators are cheap, but for me going from a cheap cue to a predator my game has taken leaps and bounds, its worth every penny, i was just wondering if the pred air was as good quality wise as their playing cues, and as good as all the hype about them.

Oh and btw i think we play with the same cue, but i have a 2nd gen 314

Dustin PM sent so I don't off track your post.

I like my Predator Air a lot!
It jumps effortlessly....as far as carrying a break and jump cue....I actually have a jump/break cue and my predator air.....being as how the air only weighs less than 10 ounces (or something like that), it doesn't bother me much! =)

Thanks for your reply, thats what i like to hear about Predator products, My SP is my first predator but i can tell its not going to be my last.

Thanks,
Dustin

The Predator Air is by far the best, and easiest to use, jump cue I've ever owned or tried. I highly recommend that and the BK2 to break with. I would never part with either of mine.

My own preference is to have a separate jump cue and a break cue. That way you can mess around with tips that are ideal for each. I've had 3 jump breaks and didn't love any. Maybe it's my imagination but a 3 piece break cue does not feel as solid to me as a two piece.

My experience is that I jump better with a phenolic tip, but break with more control with a hard leather tip (like Tiger's).

I liked my Predator Air at first, then I don't know what happened, but I kind of lost it. The one thing about the cue is it's very light. I found that I could only effectively jump with it at full length, I think because of the very light weight.

To do it inexpensively and be very versatile, I actually would recommend a heavier jump cue that can be extended, something cheap like a Stealth. For jump shots that are long (after the jump) it's more accurate to shoot long shots with a longer cue. Then any good solid two piece cue with a super hard leather tip for breaking.
