I just wanted to say that the predator shaft has changed my life and allowed me to realize my dream of becoming a pro player. Using a conventional shaft I had extreme difficulty aiming many shots, especially when using inside english. Now I feel confident using whatever amount and whatever type of english the shot calls for.

I hadn't even come close to winning a regional event using a conventional shaft. Within a year of my switching to a predator, I won on the Planet Pool and Viking tour as well as cashing in the US Open. I have since won Joss, Blaze, South East Open, Florida Tour, and many other open events including the Reno Open and 2006 US Open bar table 9-ball championship. I doubt I would have won any of them without the predator shaft.

I am not saying that great pool cannot be played without one, but I firmly believe that using one takes a great deal of the guess work, compensation, or trial and error out of the game and makes it easier to play great pool.

Even if Onepocketchump misspelled "at least" ...

I think it's a typo not a misspelling. OnePocketChump can be a pretty smart cookie when he's of a mind to.

Machine Gun Fire in your Avatar is redundant :p :p :p
Nevertheless, your poll questions are redundant. If a poll requires you choose only one option, those options should be mutually exclusive. I know I could have selected at least 3 of those options, so I selected none.

Personally I played with a Predator for about 2 years because I won one in a free drawing Predator had on their website. It was ok, but I thought nothing special. That was on my McDermott. When I bought my first custom cue from Mike Webb, he was magnanimous enough to let me try both his custom shaft and a Predator shaft for a limited time in both practice and competition. I liked his shaft better, significantly better. I have never gone back to a Predator shaft.
BTW, I also couldn't resist getting an OB-1 shaft at the Super Billiards Expo. I loved it there, but once I got into real games with it I returned within 2 racks to a standard custom shaft. The OB-1 and the Predator shafts now gather dust hanging in my cue rack, but I never sell anything. :D

Exactly, should have been Check Boxes instead of the radial 1 answer only options. I could have checked more then 1.

I checked I play with a custom cue and shaft though.

I have a Predator SP with Z shaft & it is absolutely the WORSE
hitting stick I have. Z shaft also fits my Lucasi & turns a fair
stick into a bad one. My Lucasi is their best of line, a really
pretty stick. I'd sell both sticks with z shaft for $500.

Your missing my answer on the poll. My answer is...

After spending two years learning to use a Predator shaft, I can now shoot more accurately when using english than when using a conventional shaft.

To me a Predator shaft is just an accurate tool. Nothing more, nothing less.

AGREEDI think, sometimes; that I can beat many people w/ a broom stick and I'm not kiding....
But I like my Z shaft...
Just a opinion !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had a tremendous increase in my accuracy when switching to a P 314 shaft. I recently purchased the 314 2 shaft for my custom cue. It feels very nice and I could not forsee EVER switching back to a conventional shaft.
I am a big fan. They may not be for everyone but for me, I would not shoot with anything else if I had a choice. To each his own!!

Peace, Joe
