Predator is doing Eurotour events

Sure would be nice if the rest of us had access to play with the data that you have built on our stats.

Just saying.
Why should he? Lots of data collection outfits out there and few if any allow access to data, at least not unless you pay big fee. What would such a release accomplish, i mean other than start some FR conspiracy thread on some pool forum?

I'm not asking for a release of data. I'm asking for a way to play with it. Show me only US players. Show me only Oklahoma players. Show me only players under 30. And so on.

Such a release would garner FargoRate more exposure, relevance, possibly lead to more revenue.

We don't have ages for players. But you can in the APP filter for, for example, all players with established rating in OK--and then you can sort by rating

It would be great if you allowed us to do stock market charts with the data.

Compare IBM stock vs the SP500 = compare Corey Deuel vs the top 500 players for the past 10 years. etc, etc.

Compare the FAANG tech stocks vs the Nasdaq 100 = Compare the top 10 filipino players vs the top 100 in the world for the past 3 years, etc, etc.

Compare banger A vs banger B for the past year, etc etc.

$50k event. With a full field that’s about $15k added. So in comparison to the WNT this would be the equivalent of the Beasley Open ranking event in North Carolina. That’s below the $40k added threshold requiring sanction. So I think it’s unsanctioned. Don’t see it on the WPA calendar.

Well, speaking personally for me... One of the biggest failings I see in Fargorate is the fact that players can "choose" to make all their games public, or not. Chess is not this way. I can see the results of every tournament game I have ever played in my entire LIFE. I am turning 50 years old this year.. And my first rated chess games were at 17 in high school. I still go back to this day and cross check the players I have played to see if they are still active, how much they've improved, etc. This even occasionally leads to me spontaneously getting back into chess.

I can see who beat me, and who I beat in a specific tournament. I can see how much their rating changed in that event, and how much mine did. I can click on their name and see how they performed in events surrounding the one they played me in. And the key is.... There is no data "hidden" by some arbitrary decision to try to protect someone's gambling action.

I get "why" you don't report all matches publicly, to be seen by everyone. The need to acquiesce to (American) gambling culture corrupts Fargorate as a company, and you are avoiding backlash from players wanting to stay under the radar. But I think you are missing a major opportunity. There's some psychological stuff that happens when the data is laid out right in front of you about your whole pool journey.. Who plays slightly better than you... What your rating was "in that particular tournament".... What your performance rating for that particular tournament was. It can be INCREDIBLY motivating to see that at one point you were playing at xxx Fargorate level. And improved to xxx level. The kind of motivating that gets you back on the practice table and playing tournaments again.

And the data is all there without having to subscribe to some app. I wish with all my heart that someday Fargorate finds a way to replicate how USCF tracks things on their Member Services/Rating Area portion of their site.. I know you have not seen international adoption of Fargorating tournaments as much as you'd like. The issue is there is just not that much data available, as compared to how chess does it.

I don't know if I have posted this before.. But this is what my USCF MSA looks like - https://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlTnmtHst.php?12585343

As opposed to.... Looking up my Fargorate on fairmatch, and getting..... A single number. Fargorate is old enough to be much better by this point.

that's disappointing. eurotour has always been paying peanuts. was hoping predator would change that

The pool itself on display is quite good but its emotionless with ZERO crowd interaction. This is modern sterile robot pool and i honestly think it sucks. Bigtime.

Unfortunately Europe is way behind the US in term of pool being a spectator magnet, maybe with the exclusion of partisan UK crowds. It is common that European tournaments have only other players or a random coach or two in attendance. Which is a terrible shame.

WNT's loss is Predator's gain. Congratulations to Joshua Filler for the win!

The pool was generally pretty good based on a handful of matches I saw, but so antiseptic. What is true of all sports is true of pool, too. Spectators, particularly engaged ones, make every event better. Often much, much better.

Great interview with Feijin on the Youtube feed from the day before the semis and final. He played great until the semis, but just a few mistakes against Filler and he was cooked.

Filler played at his highest gear and got some revenge after losing to Feijin at the International Open in December.

The recessed seating for the players so even they weren't in the table arena was F'n weird.
