Does anyone in here have a picture of the New and Outcoming Predator Jump Cue. I have heard it was at VF and also BCA in Vegas and just wondering if anyone maybe snapped a picture of it.

Thanks for everything, cant wait till August to see this thing.

Sounds interesting. I wonder if predator will be advertising it with low deflection characteristics? Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't normal predator shafts difficult to jump with? What about the phenolic tipped BK2, has anyone had any experiences jumping with it?

i had a breif conversation with a guy that worked for predator over on the seyberts forum and he said it would be longer and when i mentioned hard tips making it easier for me to jump but harder for me to control the cueball he said something about maybe a leather tip

I believe that deflection is a large factor in jumping, I know that I have had a hard time shaft jumping with my 314 compared to other shafts. This is why jump break cues baffle me, you want low deflection for a break cue and high deflection for a jump cue, so j/b cues are forced to compromise.

BTW, I digg the avatar...

I have a seperate cue for breaking and jumping - that way I am not sacrificing anything. I have done a couple of 1/4 ball jumps with my z-shaft about 8 inches away but would never try anything more than that with it. I am currently waiting for my Petree break cue as well as a matching Petree jump cue. They will both match my player(in looks). I am interested to see the new Predator Jump cue as well. I am sure they have taken deflection and all of those things into consideration. They are not dummies. JMO

i shot with this jump cue for quite a bit at valley forge. it will not be "low deflection" as you need deflection to jump a ball, thus why it is nearly impossible to jump a full ball with a predator shaft on a regular cue. whoever said its all black with the logo on the handle is right. i can tell you that it jumps very well! i was doing dart jumps with the object ball about 12 inches away and a ball in the middle without a problem after about two or three attempts. this is not the first time predator has made a jump cue. about 3 years ago they made an annoucement to all of their "vip" players and customers about an upcoming jump cue to be released. some of us demo'd it and after a few months of play they canned the idea because.... to be blunt... the cue didnt jump! but the new one seems much better! it is very, very light,, i forget the specs, but i remember that it was considerably lighter than most jump cues. i believe the tip is the same as is on the bk2,,, but i could be wrong about that.

Thanks for the info, I can't wait to see it released! I'm a big fan of Predator, but my favorite jump cue is the Jacoby jumper, they'll have to work hard to beat that cue! ;)

i currently use a lucasi jump, or circus cue as i like to call them, and i am pretty happy with it. i will definitly have to consider the predator when it comes out though. it will probably depend on the price, i only use a jump cue about once every few months so i wont spend much on one. incase you cant tell im kinda against jump cues,IMO if you cant jump with your playing cue then kick the ball or masse'. we have cues for breaking, cues for jumping, cues for playing, ive even seen masse' cues. pretty soon pool will be like golf, there will be a different cue for every shot. no offense to anyone, use every angle that you can under the rules, but i just wish the would only allow a break and a playing cue.

I tried out the jump cue and it was perhaps the easiest jump cue I have used. It has three sections like the stealth jump cue. It is very light and is a dark gray color with Predator Air on the side kinda like the Predator BK2 is on the BK2. I am going to get one, my Mezz Air Shooter ain't cuttin the mustard.

Eric.

I currently have the stealth AT-1 and like how it breaks into 3 pieces. Do you have any idea what the shaft thickness is on the Predator Air?

bval, going of memory here (which is not very good) i dont remember them saying it was cored with wood at all, i believe it was a composite material if i remember correctly. im sure someone will correct me if im wrong. tip diameter looked to be about 12.75-13mm. and as light as it was (i want to say about 4oz) i dont think it could be wood cored

Hmm interesting that they would use a composite material.....kinda turns down the appeal for me a bit. I was actually hoping it would be maybe ash or something. I'm sure the thing jumps well, but I just can't seem to deal well with the stickiness of composite materials (unless this happens to be an exception).
