I had a similar problem.......
I am not a cuemaker OR repairman and I had a similar problem on a plain sp that was wood all the way down to the butt......exactly like the Meucci.
The crack was about an inch and a half. My local repairman, who used to be a custom cuemaker, virtually "cut-off" the cracked area, glued the small crack that was past the 1 1/4" that he cut off.....I mean really got the glue in there, and then added a new butt cap.
No butt sleeve was needed, just an old school sized butt cap. Period.
That was 5 or 6 years ago and the problem has not returned.
I've been extremley pleased, but I wasn't trying to save a logo either.
