Predator Revo Shafts

I am using a 12.4 for few months now. I rarely wipe it and i play without glove. It glides really fine, the shaft is really powerfull. I like it so far.

As for accurate it is very accurate. The only problem I have is adjusting to cut shots with spin. Cause it works when I aim the english parallel but I was used to compensate for deflection. I was missing a lot of balls cause my brain was still compensating and I was over-cutting for outside english. If you want to test put a straight shot and put left or right but parallel to the line of aim. It works !

sounds like most like them so thats a big plus.

for me im old school and all my 40 to 50 year old shafts are still straight without nicks and i can still run racks at my age. so ill wait until i wear those out.

I do have P3 with Revo 12.9, but used to P3 with Z2 with 11,75.
It's very little used because to thick tip.

At predator web pages it says nothing about thinner then Revo 12,4

Ronnie Alcano just borrows cues to play with. He was overheard on the action room stream saying he borrowed the Revo from someone and used it in his banks match. In both sets he gambled with Filler he has used different cues each time. He started the second set with a normal looking cue, not sure if ld or not, and then switched to a Revo. He then changed back to the cue he stared with after a few racks. The man has played with a crap ton of different cues throughout his career so that says alot about his cue choice. Hell even changing back to the cue he started the set with from the Revo might say something about that. Or more likely...the cue doesn't matter for him.

They as told by the rep " we dont make one offs in production" there is talks about longer shaft and different sizes tips but none at this moment.

If you are looking for advanced carbon fiber shaft but in smaller diameter, go to BeCue....

They have an 11.8mm and a 12.0mm shaft. (And they will work with you to what size you think would be best)

Predator follows the wisdom of "where there's confusion, there's money to be made".

They would want to create the vague notion that there might be a smaller diameter shaft, but it might be years so then customers lose patience and just buy what's on the market.
Then they sell two shafts instead of one.
That's why so many customers have the 12.9 and the 12.4...for the first year they declared 12.9 mm we the one and only size (they even advertised it was the size that had the lowest deflection) then they spring the 12.4mm "new size" even though Darren Appleton was playing with a 12.4mm revo for a while before that.

They will do the same thing with their Z size Revo. Ethically, I disagree with treating customers like that, but monetarily, they will rake in the bucks, and people will praise them for it.

I’m not sure what your talking about.. I got my revo shaft as soon as they were available and I had a choice between the 12.4 and 12.9.

That becue does look interesting though. Maybe they will be at the expo

Maybe the guy that loaned him the Revo had to leave. Although if I had to borrow a cue, I would prefer it to be old-fashioned maple!

Someone commented something in the tip scuffing thread that really made me think.

I have no problem with miscues with the Revo/Victory for a long time, then all of a sudden, even though I've chalked the tip -- I get a miscue.

Then I see that the Victory tip is a 8 layer tip. Could it be that when transitioning from one layer to the next, when reaching the glue layer, that the tip doesn't hold the chalk well? The other night I noticed when I miscued that although the tip was completely covered with chalk, it appeared to be a very thin layer of chalk. Maybe the presence of the glue makes the tip not hold chalk very well?

As your tip wears from one layer to the next, the glue line is only a ring because of the curved ogive of the tip, be it nickel or dime shaped. The glue excuse would only hold if the tip was perfectly flat. Then you would see a layer of glue. I hope this makes sense.

(You and I posted in those threads at the time)They were only available in 12.9mm and we had a lot of talk about possible size variations because other players (like Bob J) were playing with custom size revos at the time.

It was only after they released the Revo cues, that they decided to sell the shaft separately on its own at 12.9mm

Then in 2017 a 12.4 revo emerges.

I got you. Before you could buy just the shaft. Your right there was no choice at the beginning when you had to buy a full cue. Most of them insanely priced lol

Actually, that makes sense, but where I see the miscue happen is near the edge of the tip. After the miscue, I then see a small spot where the chalk was rubbed off. But regardless, I'm thinking that when the miscues happen is when I use a lot of English or draw and near the edge of the tip, which is where the glue doesn't hold the chalk well enough.

I should say though, after a couple weeks of use, I really like the Revo (12.4 mm) shaft. It will be interesting to see how it plays when I change the tip to an Elkmaster (or Milkdud).

I use the great white chalk & haven't miscued in months with the victory tip. I've seen some complaints about the tip hardening up quick though but ive been lucky I guess with my 4 revo shafts

I had never heard of this chalk. I just ordered two cubes. (I see that it's Mako Blue).

Do you chalk the edges of the tip?

It could also be your stroke at certain shots that's causing the miscue.
