i'm thinking about buying a first generation 314 shaft. some of the ones i've seen have a logo on the shaft that says 314 and has a cat underneath that. some simply say 314, no cat. are there any differences between the cat/no-cat shafts? on predator's website they list the differences between 1st and 2nd gen, but don't say anything about cat/pre-cat.

I have never used a pre-cat shaft, but they seem to bring more money that the ones with a cat on em.

I personally play with pre-cats only. They were the first shafts that
predator made, and they were made in Florida. The newer shafts are
now made overseas in Asia. The first generation are low deflection,
but they do deflect more than the 314-1's and 314-2's. The 314-2's
deflect the least, but they hit way to stiff for me. I know that the pre-
cats are not made anymore, but I'm not positive if the 314-1's are still
being made or not. My guess is that the pre-cats bring in more money
because they arent being made anymore. Hope this helps.
