predator shaft whats the difference

Gerda quit using the Z...she said it was way too unforgiving with a slight mishit. She complained she slightly missed a lot of shots. She's now gone back to the 314...with Varney ferrules.;) And is very happy I may add.:D

predator z

as other people mentioned the tip is smaller on the z shaft and the taper is different........they are advertising a stiffer hit with the new shaft which makes me feel that they have realized that a lot of people may like the way the 314 plays but don't like the way it feels. the one thing i dont understand is the taper they have used. if you look at the diagram you will notice that it is a constant taper......didn't everyone get away from that taper years ago for a reason?....... i havn't hit a ball with the z shaft but i don't think i would like the shaft getting thinner and thicker in my fingers as the cue went back and forth.

you said she went back to the 314 with one of your ferrules......was just curious if your ferrule gives the 314 a more solid feel and if so how much if any does it add to the deflection? also curious if you have tried the ob 1 shaft.........i have one and love it.........i had a 314 and liked the way it played but couldnt stand the feel........the ob 1 seems to have all of the advantages of the 314 without losing the solid feel that a cue should have
