Predator Shafts

Ok so Im sure this thread has been done before but Im gonna write this out any ways and I would like some opinions.

So I was out shooting tonight and at the end of the night a friend told me to see if his predator shaft fit on my cue, so I tried it out and shot around with it. I was really surprised at how easy it was to just aim and shoot with it. It wasnt hard to adjust to because I know that all you have to do is stop compensating for deflection and just aim at the contact point. After shooting with it for a little bit I was really thinking about getting one, and still am, its like cheating lol seriously.

But wat Im really wandering is that if you were to compare two players, a predator player, and a normal shaft player who would you consider the better player? I was thinkin that Ive been playing a harder game having to compensate when using spin and a number of other things all while still playing as good or better than alot of the players I know using these low deflection shafts.

Any ways I need some opinions. I do think that I might order myself one just to have handy and maybe try and get used to playing with

I have a 314/2, old 314, and on OB 1, and I like them all. I like the hit on the OB1 better, but the ferrule is hard for me to play with. I think it can actually be harder to play with one of these shafts due to the fact that sometimes you put unwanted english on the rock, and fairly often I put way too much juice on whitey. I try a simple stop shot, and bam! 3 foot draw! I keep playing with it though, because I believe in the end I will have more control over my game, and maybe if I go back to a standard maple shaft, my stroke will be fine tuned.

It doesn't really matter what you shoot with as long as you leave with the money......

If you feel you shoot better with a LD shaft then get one. I did for awhile then went back to a high quality regular shaft and nothing really changed except the money I spent on it. I can honestly say thou that I am moving to a Preadtor Fat shaft. Just get what ever you are more comfortable with and what ever is going to help you enjoy the game more..

I felt the same as you when I tried one out, over 10 years ago. My adjustment period was almost zero. Back then the hype was more english and less squirt. I never saw the increased english but others swear that you get more. Then and now, plenty of top players and pros use LD shafts. Some are compensated but many are not. I've tried them all but stick with my 2nd generation 314's. I had a new one fitted to a custom cue and keep a spare shaft.

good luck.......Paul
