Do you happen to have any pics? Very interested in swapping out the uniloc.

Thanks
Chuck

Me too... Kevin are you reading this? I also have a uni-loc sneaky predator... I am also interested in switching to a radial pin... I think the uni-loc add too much weight to the center of the cue. And it deadeds the hit...

I HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE, I REALLY PLAY WELL WITH THE DUFFERIN. WELL, GOOD FOR ME ANYWAYS.

Well, it simply comes down to whether you like apples or oranges. Some people like predators, some don't... I happen to fall into the I don't category. I have heard about people changing the pins in the predators, and liking them much better. To each their own.

I have a sp4rw with a Z2 shaft that I got a few months ago. It plays fantastic and the hit is solid. I'm not crazy about the tip, but I don't have any problems with it.

I have owned several Predator cues. My current playing cue is a SP8RJ. I think it has the best hit of any I have played with.

I've done a bunch of these cues. Changing the Uni to a Radial or big 3/8-10 really wakes up these cues....the "hit" becomes ultra sweet. I also remove the brass insert from the shaft & you have a choice of wood or phenolic insert. It'll look factory original when I'm done. I only need the cues 2 days to complete the work.
Leonard thank you sir for the kind words.:)

Sounds good, any differences between the Phenolic insert vs. the wood insert?

I will send mine later this week...

No difference...some customers just have a preference.

I have three Predator playing cues and this ist my Ranking:

LE XI ( I love the design)
SP (Plays almost the same way then the LE XI, maybe vibrates a little bit mor the the LE XI (But this can be also just in may mind because i know the LE XI is phenolic cored...))
Customized (THX to Eurowest) 4k2 (I still love this cue, but from my feeling the other two have a little bit a better hit)

In the last time i play only with the SP, because i think I?m not ready for the LE XI (For me, I have to go to a higher level to be allowed to play with it) ;-)

good cue, got rid of mine because the green was too damn hideous, this from a guy who doesn't care too much about looks, the red ones don't look much better imo

not sure why they can't just make a plain one without colour

dufferin sneakies were really the best deal around and probably the best cues Dufferin made, retailed about $60 for years plus around these parts when they had the dufferin stores you could exchange it for just about any reason

for the $300 asking price of the cheapest Predator sneaky, I think you're way better off with an entry level custom cue and add a pred shaft down the road

Kevin, I like the sound of this idea, although I'd hate to see you innudated with requests for this type of rework. Quick question. 3/8x10 pin and you do a phenolic plug in the shaft ?? I had Mike Webb do a phenolic plug and he swore after doing it that he'd NEVER do another one. Personally, I like them because the wood never loosens up the joint. Don't know whether the phenolic changes the hit, however. Thoughts ???

Thanks,
tim

I am in the process of getting the uni-loc pin changed, my cue is on the way to him... I like the quick - release of the uni-loc, but this adds quite a bit of weight to the center of the cue. I think Kevin plans for a big 3/8 southwest style pin and maybe a Phenolic plug in the shaft. Hopefully I can let you guys know withen a couple weeks.

I've done a lot of these cues both with wood in the shaft, and phenolic...even a few in ABS. You'd be hard pressed to tell a difference in hit...the wood might hit a tad bit softer.
I'm doing conversions on racer rx & smoknum's cues so they can report back. Personally...I can't stand the Uni pin. I'm a big pin fan all the way...thats why you don't see Varney shafts with brass in them.:)
