I'm thinking about buying one of these 4 cue makers. Which is your preference and why? Which 2 would your eliminate from this list?
Thanks for the help.

cat;

You have to give us an idea what your talking about. Each of these makers has value to their cue and in order to give you opinions, what value are you looking for.. ie playability, investment, artistic creativity etc.....

Decisons, Decisons"

All 4 Makers are some of the best"
Having cues by all 4 , I choose Ed Prewitt...
He makes such an awesome cue and one of the very-best hitting cues in the business"

Thanks Duane.
Deadon, I guess I am just curious about their characteristics and feel, having never played with them.

Everyone likes different characteristics in a cue.

I was hitting them around with Mark Tad tonight and he was using a low end sneaky that someone was trying to sell to him. I hit balls with it and didn't like it. I let him hit with my Varney, which I love. He hit 3 balls with it and handed it back to me. He didn't like it.

My point is that there will be people who will like and people who will dislike a certain cue/maker.

You need to hit with them all and see what you like.

Are you looking for a playing cue?? Or a collectible??

How much money did you win over Mark Tadd? Did you teach him a lesson? He's one of my favor players. Was he on his game?

I'm looking for a playing cue. I know every one likes a different feel, I just wanted to know what those cue are comparible to or how they play.

Hey Monte......

Mark was hitting them pretty good, not great. He hadn't played for a while and was trying real hard to get into stroke. I watched his first match today and he played OK and won. But he is up against some tough competition this week.

I have a super nice TS i'll sell you!!

Take care....

athecat,

I have not hit all the cues on the list so I am not able to make any comparisons, but I play with one of Ernie's original designs that I've owned for over 40 years so I can talk a little about Ginacues. I can tell you it is the best playing cue - for me-that I've ever put to a cue ball and I grew up in Chicago back when Rambows and Balabushkas were plentiful and I've hit many of them. I would assume that a Gina today is at least as good.

So put it this way, I would not drop him for the list. And that's without considering the collectability factor. Besides, you live just over the hill from Ernie's shop so you really could have a good interaction with the maker during the design and construction and end up with a cue truly custom made for you. Certainly you could meet with him and handle some of the sticks he has in the shop. You will not be disappointed.
