Price feeler for SW

What can I expect to get for a SW from 98. New condition. Test hit. Purpleheart with Birdseye recut into Ebony points with a single natural veneer. Short points are Ebony with a single natural veneer. Butt is purpleheart with a Birdseye band. This cue was ordered at the very first ACA cue show in Houston from Jerry and Lori at their booth.

These cues are dropping rapidly in price. People are off loading them left and right. Average price seems to be somewhere between $4000-$5000 depending on many factors but at the rate of drop and the flood in the market I suspect t you will start seeing the cues at and average price of about $3500. Which is probably the price correction they deserve. Overrated cue.

I have heard from several people that the raffles on FB are dwindling the prices on various cues, SW to name one. People are winning cues for $40 and $60 then dumping them for less than what others are asking. They banned them on here but FB is a free for all for anything. I dont have it and have not seen said raffles so im just going off those who have told me, a couple of which have won some cues. Not just with SW cues but if that does continue you will see guys eventually be buried in cues and have to sell them at the current market value.

to the op, there are a lot of knowledgeable people on azb and I would suggest posting a thread w/ pics on the main forum to get an idea on your cues current value. It sounds like a very nice one.

One thing is that you mentioned you bought it in 98 from Laurie and Jerry at their booth at the first houston open, however, Jerry passed away prior to that.

Sounds like a 9 pointer. I would think that they are worth more than 6 pointers since you don't see as many of them around, but I'm not sure. I can't tell from your post what wood is in the forearm or nose of the cue. Purpleheart or Ebony will sell for more than maple.

I'm guessing $4500 to $5500. However, I've seen people asking up to $7k for some southwests. If it is 98 it is not a Franklin.

Of course what they are asking for Southwests is not necessarily what they are getting for them. You should post a pic, I would love to see it.

Ordered at the first ACA cue show, didn't get until 98. You need to post some pics and specs of the cue. Good luck.
