Why did Diamond make their 8ft tables in a dimension that was in between everybody else's 8ft tables and their pro 8ft table dimensions. Why not just make their 8ft table the same dimensions as everybody else's 8ft tables, aka the "standard" size?Standard 8ft 44×88

Because Greg Sullivan figured that if the 7ft was 40×80 and the 9ft was 50×100, then the 8ft should be 45×90, right? Why did Diamond make their 8ft tables in a dimension that was in between everybody else's 8ft tables and their pro 8ft table dimensions. I have a OS Brunswick sport king and it feels like an ocean compared to a standard 8
Diamond’s 8-foot tables are 90”X45” which is only 2” shorter and 1” narrower than a true 92”X46” oversized pro 8-foot.Any suggestions on who makes a good pro 8. I know there is
only a 4 inch x 2 inch difference on the playing surface but
I cant fit a 9 foot and my 8 foot brunswick has buckets for pockets

Its a 'mid-size'.If 44"x 88" is considered a regulation 8' table couldn't a Diamond 45"x90" also be considered an oversize 8' table?
