Pro One

Oh?

So he released it now? Tried in several mails longer ago to get *inner and proper* information about pro1. Answer on beginning were like *not able to do it without personal lessons*.
funny- hope to be able to see one of em soon,

Well to be fair a video lesson where it's demonstrated is a LOT different than trying to explain it in text.

I think that most people agree that visual learning trumps intellectual learning when it comes to physical activities.

For example what does feathering the ball mean? I thought I knew until one day when I took a lesson from Danny Medina and he said "feather this ball with a touch of right english". I hit the ball and the cue ball went two rails. Danny then proceeded to show me what feathering a ball meant to a professional and what sort of stroke was needed.

I thought "feathering" meant hitting it softly and thinly. But I didn't know what softly and thinly really were until I was SHOWN it by someone who had developed that touch.

All I can say about this video is that now NO ONE has an excuse not to have access to the "nuts and bolts" of the CTE method of aiming. Now there doesn't need to be any more debate on WHETHER it works or not and we can move forward to discussing HOW it works and more importantly how to improve on teaching it so that we don't have to go through hundreds of rounds of nasty fighting over something intended to help people play better pool.

A great DVD. Finally, an exact CTE system that can be explained and demonstrated for all shots. No more weird twisting and turning and bringing in your cue from the right side on some shots and the left side on other shots as some of the other systems require. Thanks, Stan, for finally giving me an aiming system that, with study and work, has improved my "aiming" and taken my game to the next level. Pro One has made playing pool more fun than ever. Thank you!

It was good to see two "proven players" on your DVD using Pro One. Don't recall seeing any "major players" endorsing any of the other cte systems. Just food for thought.

A "Must Have" DVD for any player who wants to improve his/her game.

Had mine a few days. Watch go to my table, watch go to my table. Super DVD thank Stan. Watson I think I got it.

I received my DVD in the mail yesterday and watched all of it.
The quality of the video is very good.

Since I had some knowledge of CTE systems already, I have asked some friends, who do not have knowledge of CTE, to watch it to gather their opinions and see if they match those that I have from the first viewing. I will be viewing this DVD again and likely will use it as a reference.

I have still only done the CTE part of the video, and have spent time at the table with it. I am trying to get it right before moving onto pro-one, but I may just watch that to see if it helps any. Some of the visuals required for lining up the shot are more difficult than I had anticipated. Sometimes I am way off after the pivot, so I know I have not done things correctly. It will take some practice, and some figuring out the best way to correctly perceive the visuals, and make sure I am pivoting correctly, but hopefully, it will be worth it in the end.

Off the subject, slightly... Doesn anyone know if the DVD will be able to be loaded onto an mp3/ipod device, or is the formatting such that it can't be done (easily)? I don't have a table at home, and if/when I get this dvd (or any other) I'd like to be able to take it to the pool hall to use and practice for real.

Reading this thread REALLY makes me want to order one. That's a good thing. :p

Do MP3 players actually play video and not just audio files? I guess I've been living under a rock. :embarrassed2:

The better ones do. iPods, Zunes, Sansa Fuse, iRiver, etc... The screens aren't very big, but they would be sufficient for going over the examples and drills at the table. Defeinetly not for the first viewing, when you want to take it all in, I'm sure. But for replaying and practicing, I would think it would be great.

Actually, joeyA, todays smart phones do even more than that. My buddy was shooting one handed, I grabbed his phone the other day to pull up YouTube videos of Jessie Allred's awesome behind-the-back one handed pool videos. Blew his mind.

Yeah, i know about the smart phones, even though I don't have one. Practically every one of my friends is shoving their Iphone up my nose at every chance. :D:D

Full disclosure *** I sell the damned things for a living. Yet I still carry a cheapy, crappy basic phone.

My wife and kids, however... they get all the cool phones. I just get the hand-me-downs. :embarrassed2:

Worked with the Pro One DVD for most of the day. I was very lucky to have Stan give me a preview of the Pro One system back in September. However, working with the DVD really helps to reinforce my training. The more I watch the better I get. It takes time, effort, desire to learn something new, and practice. It is not a magic pill you take and immediately pocket more balls. However, it is THE aiming system. I have worked with the ghost ball system, the contact point system, the Holly Grail system, the quarter ball system, the SAM system, the Same Aim system, and probably others that I can't even remember their names. Nothing, and I mean nothing, even compares to Pro One for results and ease of making balls. Now that I know I can pocket balls I can start to really concentrate on position play.

Thanks, Stan, for making my pool playing the best, by far, that it has ever been.

Thanks for the post. Hopefully tomorrow I get my copy then I can test it out on league night on Wednesday.

Anymore reviews of the DVD I really would like to hear more on it

I have watched mine twice now and this is a keeper! I must state that I have prior experience with SAM and Same Aim. I am also a training developer and technical instructor for a large corporation. That being said, I found the DVD to be extremely professional and informative. It is very well organized and breaks down complex subject matter into easy to understand chapters that build upon each other. It was well thought out and serves as both a reference guide and training guide. Thanks Stan... it was worth the wait!!!

FYI... a Same Aim lesson with Randy G... priceless!!!

While I think both Pro One and Same Aim are good, Same Aim wins out in simplicity of understanding and use for me. Just goes to show that when it comes to learning something, what works best for one doesn't work the best for another. I am thankful we have people like Stan and Randy around to help us all.
