Pro One

Still waiting on my disk. Thought it would be here by now, i ordered my day one when he posted the link. Maybe in a day or so.

On the same aim with randy g, i had a lesson with randy this weekend. He taught me the same aim and i really do like it. I am shooting with it about 70% of my shots so far. Not really there yet on all shots yet, but it has only been a couple of days. I would say i am a c + to b level. I was worried about getting worse for a while during the learning curve, but i am not sure i will. So far so good!!

Alrighty then...well, finally received my copy of the PRO ONE dvd. I watched it twice before running to my table . That was about 6:00 pm. I had to take a break because I was getting tired pocketing balls !!!
This info is the nuts !!
I want to give a big shout-out to Stan and the entire crew who put this together . I AM TRULY AMAZED at how this works. I feel like I was shooting without seeing. I know that makes no sense but it really doesn't have to. The end result is balls in the pocket !
I am not one to fire balls in. As a kid I did ,but as a player I'm of the opinion ..easy does it. I found myself shooting balls in the hole at mach 5 just because I couldn't miss.
If I'm dreamin don't wake me. As for all the things I read about CTE this and CTE that..well ...whatever !! THIS WORKS , period. I can finally put my two cents in !!
Thanks again Stan !! Worth the wait !! Information is great , great information priceless !!

Thumbs up for PRO ONE

Stan I just received my copy today, just wanted to say thank you once again. The dvd is a great reference to what you taught me in person in November. Great job on the dvd to.

Thanks John

After watching the DVD twice I'm really perplexed. Wonder if Stan would answer questions over the phone to purchasers of the DVD. If not , would it be appropriate to have a "questions for Stan" thread.

Mine is not here yet :-(

So I am working on my stroke. I didn't realize how bad my stroke had gotten until I started working on it seriously. My arm hurts, my shoulder hurts, my hands hurt, amazing how such little changes work out muscles you don't think about.

Whoever says pool is not a sport is a numbskull. Any competition that HURTS me is a sport :-)

I am sure that a phone call or a PM would answer these questions.

Off the subject, slightly... Doesn anyone know if the DVD will be able to be loaded onto an mp3/ipod device, or is the formatting such that it can't be done (easily)? I don't have a table at home, and if/when I get this dvd (or any other) I'd like to be able to take it to the pool hall to use and practice for real.

Reading this thread REALLY makes me want to order one. That's a good thing. :p

I've already converted mine and have been watching it on my ipod.

Well I got up this morning and went to my table..before coffee. I wanted to make sure I wasn't dreaming. It Works ! I don't know if everyone will be able to"see" what Stan is teaching as fast as I have been able to , but it does work. Interestingly enough , though I don't understand it , I don't have to get behind the OB to sight the pocket on tough shots. As I have always trained myself to do.
Stan I have to say this with all sincerity. I truly believe you have forged your way into legacy . Pro ONE is without a doubt a great center ball system.

Okay, this is my second post and the first one is no where on the board. It has to be removed as I saw it posted. Here is what I posted the first time concerning this topic.

This DVD is the best one I have seen in my 40+ years in this game for the following reasons:

1. As compared to other ways of aiming, it has not one point of reference but two.
2. With those of us that love the game but don't have the time to devote to multiple hours it helps us attain the visual perspective that a pro does on shots.
3. The material is presented in a very concise, organized and professional manner.

This is must have for anyone, pro or amateur, that wants to improve their game.

I will also highly recommend that if you love the game and want to improve your game, to make arrangements on www.justcueit.com to spend two days with Stan Shuffett. Best advice I ever got from Stevie Moore. Notables such as Yu Ram Cha, Hofstettler, Ulrich, Moore and others know what he can do for your game.

Yancey,
You make some excellent points.

In addition to the positive comments about Pro One that have already been mentioned, it has helped me in some very critical areas, like:
Hitting the cue ball with the cue tip at the very center of the cue ball. (Apparently, in the past, I have often hit off center to compensate for a poor alignment or poor aiming )
Putting a full/complete stroke on the shot. (Once you know you are aiming correctly, you can invest in a good stroke instead of worrying about whether or not you are going to make the shot)
Boosting my confidence on difficult shots. (It comes with successful experiences)
Banking difficult shots seems a bit easier as well. (This was an unexpected benefit)

Good shooting to everyone. Pro One will take PRACTICE/EXPERIENCE. Stan also gives in-person lessons on Pro One as well as his FOUNDATION COURSE which I have heard nothing but rave reviews.

I also suggest viewing this video quite a few times. There is a LOT of information that you will miss the first couple of times. I know that was the case with me and I will be investing some time in watching this video many more times.

My copy came in the mail yesterday. I watched about a half hour of it and the light bulb in my poor little brain finally lit. Went to the hall to try to get into league. The bulb is very bright now! I have to watch the whole thing of course. A number of times. It is very well done and very informative.

Thanks Stan!

Just ordered mine and hope I can understand it well enough to benefit. I hope to take a lesson or 2 from him in the future.

I've had my copy since last weekend. Stan and company did an excellent job on the dvd! I most certainly agree that with hard work and LOTS of practice ProOne is a welcomed item in a players toolkit.

It was a lot of fun for me trying it out at the table after watching the dvd.

Personally I found that full, 3/4 and 1/2 ball hits and banks came to me very easily using this approach. Backwards cuts were a little tough for me to visualze so that is where I am currently spending my time.

Invaluable information - Money well spent in my book.

Thanks Stan.

I would like to reiterate what a lot of people have said throughout these aiming threads. A good STRAIGHT stroke is essential. If your stroke is not good then it will cause you to miss balls that you otherwise would not.

Or to put this another way. A good stroke will allow you to MAKE balls that you would otherwise miss.

I have been putting in some time really focusing on my stroke and guess what - CTE plus a good stroke is the DOUBLE NUTS.

So what I want to say is that the aiming system is great and it works but if you are inconsistent with it then maybe you should also look at your stroke again and make sure it's right.

The other night I took a lesson from a top coach here and we focused on my stroke (or he did)

Not once did he ask me about how I was aiming. I was using CTE on EVERY shot. All he focused on was my stroke and once that was corrected the "tough" shots were dropping easily. FWIW my stroke is not yet corrected - it's hard erasing such bad habits that have become part of my game.

And there will be debate on what a good stroke is. This coach also taught me a few things that are different than what you see in the prevailing books and DVDs on this subject. More on that later when I am better able to demonstrate those things.

Remember - a good stroke plus CTE (Pro One or Same Aim or 90/90 etc...) is the DOUBLE NUTS. My runouts never felt so confident as the other night when I was trying out my new stroke. :-)
