Pro Player Max Eberle recalls "The Most Energetic & Electric Moment in Pool Times 10"

And you have the magic answer? You know more about what it will take to get more people playing than CJ?

Let's recap for the readers shall we?

CJ Wiley: Road player -----> Top five professional player -----> Owned very successful poolrooms/nightclubs/restaurants --------->founder of a professional player's association -------> promoter who staged several great tour stops including the legendary million dollar 11 pack.

You-Mark Andrews ???? B-player who occasionally plays A-speed (your words) who has observed a bunch of better players throughout the years.

Me: Been gambling on pool since I was 12, in the pool business since I was 18, owned my own room when I was 25, owned my own cue case making businesses since I was 22.

Yeah I have no problem believing that you have just the solution to save pool. Give it all away, brilliant strategy.

Again, I'd recommend some books for you but I think you probably haven't read one for a long time and probably don't intend to let knowledge and data interfere with your opinions now.

Specific knowledge is the only real "short cut" I've found to improving quickly

Paying for something makes me pay attention and it's really a "short cut" to getting specific information. When something is "free" it has none of those qualities, it's basically like getting "seconds" in life and a lot of "second rate" knowledge.

Specific knowledge is the only real "short cut" I've found. This means someone needs to not only explain why it works, but also how you go about doing it consistently as a human being.

Getting to caught up in the physics and complex explanations is unnecessary. I seriously have my doubts that anyone actually better by understanding spin/squirt ratios. The physics of the Game are simple, the geometry is slightly more difficult, and the mind/body/cue relationships are the most important.

The systems are simple, if willing to learn the basic foundation of the Game. You must have a system to set up the same relative to the "line of the shot" every time and build on that in levels. I've described it as a "7 Layer Cake", and it all starts at the feet.

If you aren't able to get your feet in the same place relative to the shot, then you will have no chance of getting the rest of you body set correctly. Pocket Billiards has such slim margins for error I believe it's essential to concentrate on your the basics. It will make the more sophisticated aspects of the Game much easier and playing at a high level well within your reach.

wtf???!!!!!!?

If you're unable to look for anything new the chances are you'll get "stuck"

wtf???!!!!!!?

It's like systems....

"Systems underlie every phenomenon, and are everywhere one looks for them. They are limited only by the observer’s capacity to comprehend the complexity of the observed entity, item or phenomenon."

I like this definition of a system because it does exist "everywhere one looks for them". If you're unable to look for anything new I would venture to guess you'll find nothing new.

I played a lot of my best matches subconsciously and to explain some of the shots I was able to pull off in that state does seem like magic. I can't even try to explain some of the phenomenal things I've seen in the midst of a 20 hour session, but there are people that have witnessed these things and even to them it seemed "supernatural".

I guess it's comparable to some of the things people can do under the influence of a deep hypnotic trance. I just think it's better to learn to do it than try to learn how to explain it. I've had to learn how these phenomenons occur and it's easier to do than to explain. I know one thing that's sure in my mind, there's a system for dong anything difficult, consistently. That goes for driving, sailing, golfing, or even getting along in a relationship.

If you're really struggling to improve and you don't believe in developing a system, then you actually don't believe in improving. The mind can pretty much achieve what you can conceive so make sure you at least "think" you're improving every day. Sometimes we just have to "fake it, til we make it".

I would advise the younger players to do your part to promote yourself

Again Einstein we are not talking the value or selling anything we are talking about luring in people to get interested in pool

"luring people in to get interested".....wow......let me know how that works out. ;)

For pool to become popular quickly, the game must take a back seat at first. The primary story needs to be about the characters involved, not the game. No game has a draw without the personalities leading the way. History backs that up 100%.

When I was playing full time there were several of us that promoted in our own areas of the country (and some nation/world wide), Jeanette Lee, Vivian, Allison, Sigel, Hopkins, Hall, Miz, Archer, Davenport, Varner, West, Martin, Wilson, and of course Keith M. and several others were in 'The Color of Money' , ' The Baltimore Bullet' and even 'Pool Hall Junkies'.

There's no doubt what Mosconi and Fats did in, and as a result of the movie 'The Hustler'....however, even without movies it's VITALLY IMPORTANT to do press releases to local magazines, newspapers, and local news TV Stations.....

I would advise the younger players to do your part to promote yourself and if you have any questions on how to get started or need advise on how to write the press releases contact me anytime....I can ALWAYS be reached on Face Book via Private Message....or email me at thegameistheteacher@gmail.com

I'm always willing to share to players that sincerely want to learn.

I beg to differ ,, I don't see starving people not valuing free food
I support any research that can be back up with facts ,, for instance many products give samplers for free ,, drug pushers give drugs away for free and also there is the free or your money back concept

In this case however we are talking about promotion not a product according to CJ that is not intended for profit just promotion ,, in this case free has no equal people come out if the woodwork for free stuff ,, a perfect case of this is inside pool magazines on the table at the SBE

If anyone wants a free video they can simply PM me and ask for one......I sent out 50 of them in one week before on TOI....some people went ahead and purchased them and some people didn't....it really made no difference, I was just sharing the technique, and I'm always willing to share to players that sincerely want to learn.
