Typically, in most cases, the Army is not gonna send an E-1,63A(mechanic's helper) to train with the Spec Op guys. I could see you assisting the mechanics, working on some of their vehicles...

As mentioned before, most two year guys have only one MOS (and none in the low 600's)

Again, since when does the Army take an E-1 Private with a mechanic's helper MOS and have him test things outside of his specialty?? The M-15 was new and unproven at the time. Why would the Army take a mechanic's helper with no other qualifications i.e. Rifle Expert to test a rifle prototype?

As far as Ft Greely (Artic Test Board) I was sent there 6 months TDY from Wainright to escape a court marshal for getting caught with a native American woman...in my bunk one morning. -
This is another one that makes no sense whatsoever. You just do not get trasnferred to another base to "escape a court martial". If you are being court martialed, they are gonna drag you on the carpet, regardless of what post you are at.

Also, your edited DD 214 is missing some identifiers, especially your name and Army Service Number?

Do you now see how crazy some of this sounds??

Regardless, I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt.

I hope you will accept my apology for accusing you of not being in the service. I'm sorry for making false accusations, being too quick to accuse and disparaging your earned respect and honorable discharge.

why not simply say:

It's not exactly stolen valor, Brian. Some of us were drafted.
And, by-the-way, rehash is what this forum is all about. How many times have we talked about cue tips? :smile:
 
My DD214 has a reenlistment code.

I just looked at my DD214 and read the amount of my life insurance back then. A whopping $15,000. If I would have been killed my mom would have gotten $15,000.

My girl friend was scooped up by "Jody", thank goodness. She was a looker back then but heard many years later that she didn't turn out so well. Anyway, I really got lucky with my wife. (keeping my fingers crossed). :D

There is a box, either on the DD-214, or it's accompanying form that asks: Recommended For Re-Enlistment (yes, or no). Mine, and I'm sure Joey's, is marked yes. Many, however, were marked no because of less than sterling performance while on active duty.
