This is from the Super Billiards Expo website. I thought there would be more players than 21 signed up. Was hoping to see Gabe, Corey, Ralf, Mika, Niels, Danny, Francisco, and Efren on the list just to name a few. Hope the list is not complete and there will be more pro players attending.

Does anyone know why they went back to 9-ball? Was 8-ball because Brunswick was sponsoring it the last year or two? (I THINK it was Brunswick, but I'm not positive).

The format last year for the pro event was unsettling to some of the competitors. The best 2 out of 3 matches gave some players a nightmare. They could beat their opponent by a larger margin of games won in the best 2 out of 3, and the player who won the least amount of games could still win the best 2 out of 3, thus advancing in the charts. I think some players enjoyed the double-elimination format of 9-ball more than the best 2 out of 3 in 8-ball. JMHO, FWIW!

Gabriels Open Professional Players Championship 2007

Last year it was Dennis Hatch who won the event by beating Mike Davis in the finals. The tournament was played on the Gabriels Signature Pro, this year the event will be played again on the Gabriels Signature Pro Dianite.

Too bad, that the tournament conflicts with the European Championships in the Czech Republic. This results in the absence of players like Niels Feijen, Ralf Souquet etc.

However I am convinced that the Gabriels Open Professional Players Championship will add a lot of excitement to the Super Billiards Expo.
