Pro Pool on TV -- Making it Watchable

I'd love to see that type of show, with the dough on the line. Trouble is, you'd have to condense the session. One set for the cheese is no fun and I dont want to see the one set wonder. I like TAR on TV to be honest and I've often wondered what if that was PPV. We buy $50 UFC matches without flinching and theyre over in 5 hours. We should have something like that for pool. The characters make it just as interesting as the people playing.

I love watching people trap themselves up and then out run the nuts or just be easy pickings from there. It's underground. I think the problem is pool is something you have to be there for to really sweat it. Find a way to make it seem like you are there and youre in business. Otherwise Accu-Stats, you-tube, and ustream have too much out there for free or little to no charge.

If Matt Damon could make a movie about pool, like he did for poker in "Rounders," well, I think we'd have a win-win! He does play pool and likes it.

Isn't that John Turturo (Julian in The Color of Money) on Damon's left?

Believe it or not, we shot a pilot using this same concept early this year. So far no takers though. It's tough to sell a new show. I may make a copy of the pilot available soon though.

I'd be interested in seeing that, Jay. You should post it to Youtube.

If I had to choose watching pool on TV or streamed on line, I would go with the stream. Its more interactive. Pool just isn't exciting enough to watch for the majority of people in the world. If it was then there would be no problem getting it on TV. A pool reality show!
