Problems drawing

I can follow. I have a good understanding of english. Bottom left, bottom right I'm cool, but drawing the ball straight back I have a problem with. I've practiced constantly just on that and I either hit the cue ball too low and it scoops it or I just draw it back some, but not enough. Any suggestions??

Cover your A.S.S.
The shot has to be straight in in order to draw straight back.
Contact the cue ball about half way between the horizontal center and the bottom.
Increase your speed to get more draw.
FINISH YOUR STROKE! The tip MUST end up beyond the original point where you first contacted the cue ball.

Joeyb1979...To add to what pooltcher said, take the 9ball, and place the stripe horizontal on the table. Use it as your CB. Aim the top edge of your tip, at the bottom of the yellow stripe (not the white). Keep your grip loose and your swing fluid. You're probably scooping the CB, or not drawing enough, because you're gripping too tightly at impact (which can make your tip go up or down...meaning you're not hitting where you think you're aiming). The stripe allows you to see exactly where you struck the ball.

holly cow, instruction from the instructor. No, go to a qualified instructor anywhere in the post. I should rep you.

Nice post Scott.

One thing you said I think needs to be said again to make sure its not lost. Aim the TOP of the tip at the bottom of the stripe (or where you want to hit when below the equator).

A lot of players will tend to try and aim the center of the tip where they want to strike the CB and never think about the portion of the tip that will actually make contact.

Jason...Maybe you haven't read many of my posts, but I offer actual instruction ALL the time. That doesn't take away from (nor replace), the value of having a "qualified" (that doesn't necessarily mean BCA) instructor look at your problems. To me, 'qualified' means that the instructor used slow motion video review, as part of the lesson.
