I just bought a cue that needs refinishing. The guy I got it from recommended Proficient Billiards. I have no experience with this company so I'm asking for input from anyone that does. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks JUSTABANGER

You can't go wrong with proficient. Quick turnaround, and loads of experience. I would trust Scott with any cue out there. I've never heard a bad word about proficient. You have no worries.

I have used them... They do a great job at a very reasonable price

Highly recommend

Scott does great work. But there are some cue makers who should refinish their own. Who made the cue?

It's a Helmstetter. I just bought from a guy on here. He told me up front that the finish and wrap was beat up and it needed redone. I took a chance on it and really like the way it hits. So I want it to look as good it can.

I would try one of the cue makers on AZBilliards forums, then write up a review when it is done.

I'm not sure I'd want to be the one to judge a cue makers work. Plus how would you choose which one and how much time are we talking. I don't want to wait weeks or even months for one of them to get around to do a simple refinish.

Go with Proficiant or Ryan at Muelers , They both do great work , and there prices are Good . I have used both . Jim

GO with PROFICIENT

Proficient billiards refinished my cue and did an excellent job in a very reasonable time. My only complaint is the the wrap came back without the shiney protective finish. It was cleaned , pressed but not coated.
PB does great work as everyone says. I'd use them again.
Also consider SEYBERTS. The gent that does the repairs is 1st class. I had a cue re-wrapped and and wrap-less sneaky grooved and wrapped. Came out real nice.

I have a Schon that was refinished by Proficient. Looks mint. They did excellent work in this case, and have a very strong reputation.

Proficient all the way

Scott and company refinished my Palmer Titlist. Awesome job, very reasonable price.

Not all simple refinish jobs are not always simple. There might be a problem that you might not know about.

Phone calls and emails work for finding out who else is out there. There might be someone right around the corner from where you live that can do it.

Funny...there is a section on AZBilliards--------ask the cuemaker.
Sounds like a good place to start.

Don't spend the time and effort to search for somebody close by and then gamble on the quality of their work. Send it to Scot at Proficient Billiards and rest assured that it will be a quality refinish in a relatively short time.

what he said!... just had a Gilbert worked on there. First time working with Scot and stopped by the shop will on vacation. Good work, says what he can and can not do, delivers on time.

What they said again! Scott at Proficient. Did an absolutely amazing job on my six windows Schon. Wish I could take the kind of photos posted by 21whiskey. I'd post them in an instant.
