proper ratio of enduro crosslinker

Like the title, anyone have a chart or formula for the enduro pre-cat urethane to crosslinker ratio? I am about to do some test spraying and need a ratio for small batches. Couldn't find any help on the General Finishes website, or google for that matter.
PM's are fine if you want. Thanks,
Dave

Thanks Kelly. I'm 47, not quie up on the 'texting' type lingo.
32-1 or 30-1, that gives me a basis. Their site and the bottle say it becomes un-efffective after 48 hours, but if I mix-up a small batch I should be able to do a few spray sessions with the same batch. Thanks guys.

I use a touch up spray gun

It holds 4 oz of finish, to that I add 3.5 ml of the crosslinker. Measuring that small amount needs a small graduated cylinder, which can be had at a chem/med supply house, maybe ebay? Hope that helps?

You can use a cheap scale from...gasp...Harbor Freight. I think mine was 15 bucks. Use grams and it doesn't get much easier.

32 grams Enduro to 1 gram crosslinker
16 grams to .5 ect...

Doesn't a scale only work this way if the specific gravities of the materials are the same? GF is giving their ratios by volume. My experience with mixing paints says you have to weigh a sample of each of the same volume material and record the weight. Then do your ratio calculation.

32 to 1 is 32 to 1. I assume the manufacturer made the necessary calculations before finalizing the ratio.

When I mixed paints at the body shop the ratios were done the same way. Most people don't know that it sometimes takes more than 5 colors just to come up with a specific black. I think my 94 cobra had 7 including PINK. We just pulled up the formula from microfish(if anyone knows what that is) and mixed it in order on the scale.

cross linker

I think enduro has crosslinker in it? I had emailed them in the past as to using it on cue sticks. I use it as is on a slow rotating shaft.

They told me the same thing, that Enduro pre-cat (sp?) already had a crosslinker in it.

My mistake. I somehow read Enduo Poly instead of pre cat.. maybe it is the 105/207, or the cocobolo dust, or the.......

on the GF site this is the description:
Enduro Pre-Cat Urethane utilizes the latest resin and cross linking technology to provide maximum toughness, durability and water resistance. It is comparable to any conversion varnish or pre-catalyzed product.

•Sheens: Satin-35, Semi Gloss-50 and Gloss-90.
•Recommended Accuspray HVLP atomizing sets: .043 -.051 tip and nozzle, No. 9 -10 air cap. Click here for a guide for spray tip sizes.
Enduro Crosslinker can be added to improve performance.
It leads me to believe that it's not already added. I did some test spraying tonight and realized I need to learn a bunch about spraying a finish....:frown:
I thank everyone for their help and insights.

Yep. That is why I emailed them. They stated there was already crosslinker in it. I believe the person who responded stated some add (more) crosslinker to it, and some don't.

I remembered why we had to do this. We were painting athletic helmets and we were using a akzo noble 460 system. In the mix there was several components that were mixed at different ratios. The intent was to use a scale system like was described to get all of the ingredients right and keep them recorded for liability issues. However it didn't calculate the volumes correct by weight. So in order to mix different amounts of the finished mix at the correct ratios we had to get the specific gravities for all components and create our own database that did the calculating. You are right 32:1 is 32:1 for what you are working with here.
