Prototype Predator Jumpcue

This jump cue was given to me roughly 10 years ago from a friend who received it as payment owed. The history behind the cue from what I know is it was a prototype jump cue that only a few were made, and never massed produced because after it was made it was determined to be an illegal jump cue. The jump cue is made for a quick release that connects onto the shaft of your cue stick. What I am interested in knowing is if there is any value to the cue, and additional information of the cue.

interesting shaft you have there....i have no idea of the value, but I wonder why the shaft is illegal. jump cues have to be at least 40 inches and have a tip no larger than 14mm. yours definitely meets the length requirement when attached to a standard 29" shaft, so that part is OK. Is the tip larger than 14mm maybe?
 
In reply to it being illegal, Its a very good chance i got my facts Incorrect! This was nearly 10 years ago and my mind is not what it used to be. I quit playing pool over 6 years ago so I am also not up to par on the legal and illegal technicalities and or, if any have changed. I did however call some old acquaintances that tried to find some more info on the jump cue and a predator employee had stated that they had heard of the cue being made yet had never seen one and in my case was unable to give a value because of its rarity. Could be worth little value or in a collectors mind worth much in value.

Only guessing. Someone screwed up a Preditor shaft. Rather than call it a complete loss they tried to recoup to at least get the cost of shaft money back. Longer than 10 years back a player took out a hammer at a pro event to jump a ball. All Jump Cues were banned. Rules changed many times, if you took out something to jump with you had to finish the game with it. Than the legnth and size tip then the type of tip.

Its worth exactly what someone would be willing to give. I would be careful of the wording as someone high up at Preditor may not like something promoted as a preditor proto type. I would call it prototype jump cue made from Preditor shaft.
 
I definitely do not want to word it wrong or give it more value than it is, i only worded it that way because on the shaft itself it states prototype. Thanks again for more informative info.

Have you ever seen pawn stars on tv.... They always say when it's one of a kind it's tough to give a value on....it's whatever someone is willing to pay for it ......put it up for sale and start high
