Public Apology

I personally had a flawless transaction with mully.
I waited also for payment, and recieved it just like he wanted to do with troy.
Sorry it didnt work out......i'm sure mully feels bad, not only because he let troy down, but he didnt get a cue he really wanted.

rep to the both of ya's.

hope all is well mullster.

chris G<--------gave mulldog and monster deal on a TS

Yeah, that was this time last summer. Thanks for that. I love this cue. Only problem is I can't get it out of my wife's hands. I'll be playing with it and she'll start playing on another table and it never fails, she comes over and gives me the big puppy eyes and takes it away from me. hehe!!
MULLY
and you're right, I feel horrible about this situation.

Tommy,

Here is another way of looking at it. Mully said he would take the cue when he got his bonus. He did not say it expressly and there is no need to but it is implied that he meant to take the cue when he got the bonus in the amount of money he was expecting.

It should be fairly obvious that when the conditions change then the deal changes. And in this case the deal was totally contingent on two things - 1. IF the cue was still available and 2. IF the amount of money (implied) in the bonus was sufficient to cover it.

If Mully had asked Vinnie to hold the cue for him then it would be different. But he did ask that not knowing that the cue could be gone at any moment.

It takes a really honest person to man up in front of the forum and lay out his financials and apologize for not being able to fulfill a deal.

In all the years of forum participation I have never known Mully to be anything less in both his posting content and the deals he has done.

Dang ...

Dang Mully they cut your bonus and stole your wives panties all in the same week... ;) These are tough times my friend....

That's a little out of the question, but of course that's just imho. Who's to say that he could sell one of those cues in a reasonable amount of time? Should he have to sell one of those cues at a bargain basement price, so as to acquire the money quickly? Honoring a commitment is one thing, what you're suggesting is taking it a bit too far though.
I agree. It sounds like Mully was trying to add to his cue collection based on a promised bonus on his job. His intention wasn't to get rid of one of his cues to buy another one and when the bonus fell through he had to back out of the deal. I think he did the right thing coming forward telling what happened instead of just forgetting about Vinnie without an explanation.

You continue to impress me Mully. I've had a great feeling about you from the very first time we contacted each other. You have acted on this situation honorably from the time you first showed a genuine interest in the Tad, all the way to now taking the time to post a public apology.

Although admirable, the public apology wasn't really necessary because you did state to Vinnie that you would understand if he sold the cue before your bonus came. And, I'm sure you PMd him to convey your situation and apologized there. Admirable my friend and you continue to boost your credibility, at least in my eyes.

Hey, I want to thank everyone that has showed support in this. Even Tommy. I didn't take anything Tommy said as being offensive. He wasn't being rude to me about it, just stating his opinion, and I'm totally cool with that so there's no reason to bust his balls over it.....no pun intended.

Cuedog, you are 110% correct. I got to work this morning and the Sister, my school is also Catholic, gave me the slip with the bonus information in it. When I opened it and looked inside my first thought was "OH SHIT!" and I immediately got online and PM'd Vinnie about the situation. After that was done with I posted here on the forum. I've had that cue in my mind for a few weeks now. I even told all my friends at the pool hall that I had a Tad coming in June.

Well, nothing I can really do about it now except feel like dog shit for the next few days. Even Vinnie giving me a pass doesn't make me feel better about myself. I feel better that he's not pissed at me but I hate to give someone my word and then back out on it.

Thanks again, guys, and apologies one last time to Vinnie.

Glad to hear someone being up front. I had the same thing happen to me on an Omen with Daniel. IRS got me, period. He was cool about it, after I explained. Don't screw with the IRS. I learned. Even if you're in the right, you still can't win.

This love-in is all well and good; AZB group hug with Mully & Vinnie in the middle etc.

However you all seem to be ignoring the most important question - How much for the Tad now? Just how motivated is the seller after all this? I'm hoping for "VERY" then just possibly I could afford it.

Speaking of the IRS, a year after my father died I got a tax return with my name but his social security number. I'm a junior so we basically have the same name, except mine has the jr at the end of it. The check was made out to me, with the jr., but his SS. Go figure. I was considering cashing and keeping it but was told that once I cashed it, if they found out, they could charge me interest from the day I cashed it. I turned it in.

After reading so many bash/flame threads, this one is a real breath of fresh air :)
"Gokouun o inorimasu" to both of you :D

Not in Japan

Well when I originally talked to Vinnie I told him that when I got my bonus I'd take the cue. I also told him I understood if he needed to get rid of it if a buyer came before me. Anyway, I hate to give someone my word and then back out, and if there was a way to come up with an extra 1400 bucks I would, but it's not possible at this time. It really sucks finding out the day the bonuses come out that they're going to be short. Granted, they don't even have to give us a bonus, but still, they could have told us a few weeks ago. I'm just glad I didn't have anything big planned like a trip to the States.
MULLY

You don't have to be in Japan to have that happen to you. It happened to us a few years back. In fact, they told us at the last minute that there wouldn't be any bonus... here, have a nice windbreaker with the company logo on it, instead! (Or something like that. It's been a few years.) That was the first year of a new trend... no more bonuses.

At least they had the company logo put on the back, REALLY BIG. That way, we could easily tell folks who screwed us over. ;)

I feel I need to make a public apology to vinniebabarooch. I sent him a PM already but I feel I should apologize up front on the forum too. He put a plain jane Tad up for sale about a month or so ago and I told him that when I get my bonus, if he still has the cue, that I would take it. Today is the day bonuses are given and we were informed at the morning meeting that our bonuses were cut in half this time because we have less students this year. I work in a private school.

I feel terrible about this because I gave him my word that I'd take that cue off his hands. I hate having to back out like this but I just can't afford to take it. My car payments are set up at $260 bucks a month and $2,000 from my bonus. I'm getting enough to make my car payment and have a little left over but I can't afford 1400 on a cue right now.

Vinnie, I sincerely apologize for leaving you high and dry. This honestly isn't my way of doing things and I hope in the future if you have something that I may want to acquire that you won't hold this against me. If you do, well, I can't say I'd blame you but I hope that you won't.

MULLY
Completely stand up on your part Mully. like I said before there are some things that are just out of our hands. I am willing to bet you wanted that cue real bad and it doesn't sound like there is any bad blood between you and Vinnie over this. Sorry to hear it couldn't go your way and good for you to have the balls to publicly apologize on the forum. A lot of folks on here probably wouldn't do that.

John
