OK, nice work! I'm not a fan of "buttsleeves" on s/p's, but to each their own, huh? lol
I actually think they should have no bumper.
Just a threaded hole for the extension.

Extension? uh...ok. Maybe cues should have no bumper, but that would cause too many problems with cues breaking, especially if you have seen guys like I have that slam their cues on the ground after missing
Well, they shouldn't.
How many cues out there have short unthreaded buttsleeve?
Those won't last either if slammed.

This may just be my opinion, but I feel all components of a cue should be threaded on...The ferrule, joint, buttcap. Anything that may jar itself loose and just fall off. I have a Rick Howard that the buttcap is only held on by an allen head bolt in the buttcap anymore since being dropped by a friend. That glue holding it on broke free real easily. I gotta get it fixed, but I don't use it anymore due to that...I'm in no hurry either, though he does nice work...don't get me wrong, I'm NOT bashing him...Its an older model of his so maybe he's changed how he does things
Ouch!
I use golf club epoxy on my threaded delrin.
The delrin doesn't glue but the threads are the mechanical bond for dem.

Why the "ouch" Joey? I didn't say anything negative about anything or anyone, I clearly stated that anything that could break free should be threaded and glued into place...Which is why the buttcap on my Howard broke free, cause it wasn't threaded...It was just "sleeved" onto the wood. Rick Howard makes a great looking cue, this one just must have been made early on as it WAS made in 92'...I meant NO ill-intent in saying that, I know cuemaking is a learning process, you just need to accept the fact that there's soo much to learn...Too much for me so I never got into it fully
Ouch b/c I broke a buttcap too before on another cue.
I hit a padded chair and still cracked.

More RAT p/h for your enjoyment!

Ahhhh......more PURPLEHEART!!

Thats a nice looking purpleheart s/p. I like the "mirror effect" the wood has to it. Thats a "rat" cue if I understand right, so how much are those? What kind of a cue do those compare to?
Yes that is my Rat sneaky. The p/h is awesome. Joints on his cues are 5/16 - 14 piloted. With the steel joint ($275) they hit alot like a josswest, more feedback than a Schon. With the phoenelic joint ($225) they soften up a little, Prather is one that comes to mind. Ryan is quickly becoming a force.

those chain rings make me want that cue everytime I see them. Has to be my favorite style of rings. Everytime you post that picture I try to come up with ways to win the lottery so I could bribe you out of that cue.

While I'm not a fan of any sneaky with a s/s joint, I like the phenolic jointed one you've shown us...And for $225, thats a good price. If I needed another sneaky, I'd give him a call...
Wait until you see the Ebony/Purpleheart splice that's on the board for me. I will try to sneak it out for a pic tomorrow.......
