I have been told that Purpleheart wood gives the best hit of all the woods.
Looking for some answers.
Thanks for your time

depends

if the cue is cored with a good hardwood, the outer wood is more just decor.quality of shaft wood, joint design and ferrule tip, along with the taper will create a different hit

Purple Heart may feel best to some, but certainly not to all. It does not produce the springy higher action hit that Maple gives and it does not give the flat pingy hit that Ebony gives. It falls in between. So for some it will be that Goldylocks just right hit. But then others may find it too hard or too soft.

Ciggy,

There is no "best wood". Otherwise, all cues would be made from the same wood.

Different strokes for different folks.

My 2 cents,

Gary

Thanks for the help so far. By the way the Government is replacing all the Ford vehicles with GM to prop up the company. I guess the bail out was really for the unions. Government employees are already complaining about the inferior work of the GM autos. Then again Obama had to pay back for the votes didn't he.
