Does anyone know where I can get The Physics Of Pocket Billiards by Wayland Harlow at a reasonable price?
All I've seen is 300 bucks and up.
That's about 10x more than I'm willing to pay for it.

At one time I had all the remaining stock of "The Physics of Pocket Billiards." The author's name was Wayland "Skip" Marlow, not Harlow. Amazon has it wrong in some listings. I was selling them for $30 and many of the buyers were immediately putting them back up on Amazon for $100 or more. That's the problem with books that were well done but in very limited printing.

I may have an extra copy available but it will be $100 including shipping. If I get up the energy and my scanner is working, and I have an extra copy that I can de-spine, I may put up a PDF of the book -- that's within the copyright restrictions Skip set.

The book has several interesting experiments including a measurement of the the ball-ball contact time versus shot speed. (It more or less confirmed Hertz's Law.) The main weakness of the book -- in my view -- is that it does not separate the ideas that are important to play from those that are merely technically interesting.

This is great.
Love this.
However I don't love it 100 dollars worth.
I'll just keep looking. 30 bucks is more than enough for me.
Especially since I'm only interested in a few of the pages in it.
Should've gotten a copy a long time ago when I could.

Dr. Dave probably covers these in his technical papers. Have you looked through those?

The translation of the Coriolis book into English is available for about $30 from Dave Nadler (the translator). It is available in photocopy reproduction (in French) also for about $30 from Barnes & Noble.

Actually it's two things:

where e is not constant (if N is constant).
Q = (1/2) (M W2 + I W*2 + M' W'2 + I' W*'2)
The following analysis covers kinetic energy, as related to a pool shot, fairly well:

and

Conservation of angular momentum

I W*i = I W*a + GC x P
I' W*'i = I' W*'a + G'C x (-P)
where vectors W*i and W*'i are to be determined.
