QATAR WORLD CUP 10 BALL, OCT. 28 to NOV. 2, 2025

Are they not playing call-shot call-safe 10ball? Magoantay missed a 1 ball and left it safe, and Kural had to go shoot at it (hit it with a 2 rail kick)
It is about a decade since I saw a major tournament played with that format. They are, however, playing call shot.

Magpantay's beautiful kick in of the 5ball in rack five proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is, indeed, Filipino!
Must be either other rack or other ball, as in rack five the orange ball disappeared on the first shot which was a carom off the 1 (Magpantay finished frozen to the ball and missed the 1 as a result, having to play jacked-up)

Indeed, his kicking skills are strong, and I expect Jonas to win most safety battles over Szymon.

Oops, it was the four. Not the WNT set. Kicked into top right corner after hooking himself.

Remember, it's really early in the morning here in New York. All the balls look about the same. Fighting the yawns.
Yep, 8 AM, adoring your spirit (y)
I would have stayed asleep and watched a recorded stream, otherwise I would have killed the whole day for me

Another great shot by Magpantay in rack 8. Underran shape on the eight and played an inside draw off the short rail to stay in line for the 9.

Another factor to consider in conversation whether an event is a major/premiere or not, is number of live viewers on youtube. (Unless we are talking about Hoang playing at Vietnamese stream, or Jaybee Sucal for the Filipinos, lol.)

The final match for Qatari event started with respectable 6,000 and now is at stunning 15,000 watching.

When my opponent has me hooked and I'm trying to see if I have an edge of the ball:

That is my favorite frame from that clip, the second being Ralf at the steering wheel of the boat.
Thanks for my new wallpaper image, lol!

Very careless position play by Jonas may cost him, Szymon with a chance to make it 7-8 if he wins next rack on his serve. He breaks dry (for the third time at least).

Has there ever been a major tournament with that ruleset? I assumed it was a regional NYC thing that Tony Robles evangelized but never took off.
