QATAR WORLD CUP 10 BALL, OCT. 28 to NOV. 2, 2025

Not a Cinderella. Just a part-time player who is recognized as being among the most talented players in the world.
I watched Ali's first two matches. I am not sure he is as good as his Fargo suggests, but he does like one of the best players in the world. Surprisingly I have not seen him suffer much from nerves, either at the WPC or in Qatar.

How come? Provided FR is based on actual results of every rack he played vs opposition, and reflects just who is who.
Low robustness. It would be nice if he could play regularly at Predator and WNT events outside the Middle East. I'd like to see how he performed with all the travel and playing against the best in the world regularly.

Yeah, agreed. But coming from Iraq must be hard to get a visa to some places. It was just recently he was denied a visa or getting some issues about it, which made him miss one of recent international events.

In the second game of Shane’s match some guy that looked like a prince tapped him on the shoulder but Shane hardly acknowledged him. Anyone know anything?

552 games is not low robustness. Typical central limit theorem guidelines often suggest convergence to the mean at sample sizes of 30-40.

Perhaps not.
But we've been saying that for the last 300 games or so, and everybody keep forgetting to send the memo to Ameer.
Again, until he travels regularly to play the best regularly, I don't have enough to go on.

Based on what I can see, he has the game to be among the top 10-20 players in the world. But there is only one way to know for sure.

He has a huge advantage over the other players as far as pressure goes -- he has a day job. ;)
Having a day job is a huge disadvantage to developing into a great player, though. It's hard to fault him so far. Even if he only plays when he feels up to it and when has (essentially) home-field advantage, his results have been very impressive so far no matter how you slice it. A great night sleep, a tournament in my back yard, and optimal timing for me still won't have me competing with SVB.
