Well after 13 hours of driving and dodging dead deer, I finally made to Louisville from Sioux Falls. I prefer the drive from Indy. :D Pulled into the Clarion and headed for the convention center to check out TheActionReport.com room and the main tournament room. It is nice.

Below are some pics of various things at the Qlympics.

Here are some shots of TheActionReport.com room. This is where the Shane/Earl and Danny/John matches will go off. These pics were shot as we were setting up the room. After the table clothes and skirts get put on and the banners hung it should look pretty snazzy.

Here, one of the kick ass mechanics from Diamond levels up the action table. You think they take this stuff serious ????

Those Starrett levels are over $100 apiece....as Tim Allen would say UGHHH OHHHH UGHHHH OOOOO. :D

I never did get the mechanics name, my apologies. Needless to say the table is perfect.

Some pics of the main tournament room.

Those two guys playing one pocket are two of the driving forces in the pool world. Mark Griffin and Greg Sullivan. Not sure who won.

As I was talking to Mark I noticed his cue. Being a cue junkie I had to look at it. It is what it looks like, a Gus Szamboti classic. This is the epitomy of great cue to me. Simple design that has been executed flawlessy by a master. Very cool.

After looking at the Boti, Mark pulled out this beauty. It is a Joss from the late 60's when Dan Janes and Bill Stroud were working together. The marking on the delrin butt cap must have a story behind it.

After shooting these I went to the room and crashed. In a few hours it is back to the room to finish setting up. I will be updating more info later. Look for some video reports as well. Should be a great event, I can't wait !! :D

I hope that guy leveling the Table doesn't actually play Pool.... He takes this stuff WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too serious

Action Report Guys

I just wanna say thanks. You guys are doing one hell of a job. I am jealous though in a sense. I wish I was gonna be in KY, for the Qlympics. 24 hours of pool round the clock is my idea of a blast. And that room setup looks pretty snazzy Again I just want to send appreciation for all of your guys hard work. Top notch stuff.

Those pics of all those great tables in that tournament room make all us pool junkies' mouths water! I'd be inclined to take Mark's end in the match with Greg. However if Mark's hair gets any longer, he'll have to start carrying a guitar!:D

I could be wrong but I think that guy's name is Paul. Works for Diamond. I met him in New Brunswick, NJ when he was setting up the tables for the World 14.1 Championships. There's a lot of work that goes into it. I can't believe he doesnt have a whole crew of people helping him out!

Justin, I plan on coming down sometime this week to watch a couple of teammates play. Hopefully, we can get together and talk.

Question about the levels

I thought these diamond proam tables had a one piece slat. If that statement is true, then why do you need all of them levels on one table to level it?

Just curious.

You could have a 12 piece Slate and not need that many levels.

By the looks of it, if I needed Brain Surgery I would trust him to do it right.

With those tables you can tweak a 1 sq. foot area until it's level and work your way across the table...or however they do it...a friend has one and there are adjustmenst screws all the way around and in the middle...
