Quad Cities Pool

Looks like I'll be taking a little road trip up to Iowa this weekend, and should hopefully have a bit of free time to play some pool. From what I've read on here, Davenport's Miller Time seems to be the pool hot spot in the QC, and I plan to make it over there sometime Sat. evening. If anybody would like to get together and hit some balls, please let me know.

Looking forward to meeting some IA AZ'ers,

Aaron

can you say ISPA????

Aaaaa, there is a rather large tournament in Davenport from April 1 til the 5th. Have you heard of it? Try looking in the Tournament section of these forums. Would love to see you enter the Elite Event (Friday til Sunday)...room for many more.

Not trying to steal any of Terry's or Dwaine's business ( I'm sure they would agree), but most of the players will be there on Saturday evening...playing in the Tournament.

See you around...Ken

Wow, that sounds like a great event. If I was going to be in the area on that weekend, I'd certainly consider it. I'm just in town for this coming weekend (the 28th & 29th), however, so this tourney's not an option for me. Thanks for mentioning it, though; I may consider trying to make it up for next year's event.

miller time is a great place to find good friends and i can think of a handfull of az posters u can find in there on saturday. I was there the last 2 saturdays and u can normally find lil joe, terry the owner, and iowa player and me every chance we get. But theres a 3 man tournament in clinton ia this weekend might be worth the 30 min drive. Almost forgot leisure time is a decent place to just across the river in moline always a bowman in there to watch or play hope u have fun here

I'll actually be driving in from the Iowa City area, so Clinton is a bit farther than I really want to drive that evening. Thanks for the info, though, and good luck in the 3-man, if you're playing.

Sure thing Aaron...I aims to please.

You will probably find some good players there on Saturday night...either place. Just ask around and somebody will set you up...I don't mean like mug you, I mean like get you a game. Good luck to you and maybe I'll see you next year.

You are sooo lucky you caught that! I was gonna bust some balls when I saw you left me out. :)

Aaron: I'll be around all day Saturday...hopefully playing ring games. I need to get some table time in before the tourney next weekend.

If you make it, just look for a ring game and join in. If MTB is dead, you'll probably find something going on over at Leisure Time. The players flow back & forth between the two poolhalls.

Lmao

if i wasnt working id give ya a shot! both places have their regular day crowd that are all good guys. dont know exactly where u r going but if in the QC neither place is far away

Miller Time is a nice place. I stopped by there while I was back in Iowa a couple weekends ago with my brother and his girlfriend. Just played a few games with them for fun but I liked it there and will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. I'm pretty sure I was playing a table or two down from Mosconiac...I recognize the Justis case and the cues from the signature.

This is a little off topic but all you guys piping in here from the Quad Cities seem like pretty knowledgable players and great customers at Miller and Liesure.

My Question:

If there was a 3 Cushion table would any of you guys play the game? I'm only in the Quads a couple of times a month and would love to play the game but no tables since the joint on Locust (Gina D's??) went down. Pretty tough for me to convince an owner to make the investment. They need regular local players. You'd all laugh if you saw me play pool, it's embarassing, so I just stay in my hotel room. Not too good pocketing balls.

MTB used to have a 3C table, but some asian guys offered them too much $$$ so they sold it. The guys refused to break down the table, they came in with a crew of a dozen and carried it out in one piece!!! I know you won't believe me, but it actually happened.

I seemed to be the only guy (other than the asians, of course) that put any time on it.

slide: say hi next time! I'd like to see your Justis.

I will be sure to do so. I didn't know it was you at the time, I only noticed when I saw your gear list in this thread.

I was out at MillerTime last weekend. Shot for about 2 hours...I was with a group of friends and we were playing on one of the 8 footers. There were two different gentleman playing on the 9 footers...Not sure if one of those was you mosconiac. Were you doing a 3 rail object ball drill?? If so I watched you shoot occassionally...When I wasn't giving good shape to my friend that doesn't play much pool, lol. (scotch doubles)

On a different subject. I am playing in the tourney out at Legends Bar and Grill in Clinton. I was under the impression that it was an 8-ball singles tourney. Haven't heard of anything relating to 3-man.

Does Leisure Time have anything else besides 7 foot tables? Does Miller Time?

I have been to both, but it has been 15 - 20 years since I was there and all I remember are 7 foot tables.

Never been to LT but Miller Time definitely does, I think they have 7, 8 and 9. I played on a 9 when I was there two weeks ago, I think there were about 5 or 6 of the big tables.
