There are ten (10) IPT Qualifiers annouced for this coming weekend (Oct 13). Is anyone going to attempt, to attend these? Will any members of this forum attend, for the sake of watching the action?

There are no 2007 or 2008 planned events, only TBA (to be announced)

Did Efren Reyes really get his $500,000 winnings?

Integrity is the whole backbone of the IPT. Major sponsors & great locations to book events, have to be leary of the Questionable Events that have unfolded.

I'm sure we all have hoped this situation would have come to closure by now, and a good closure too. The "Silence", from those in charge, has to be creating doubt in the hearts of many.

At the beginning, I wished the IPT a vast amount of success, It looks as though my wish won't come true.

I don't know if there will be any action watch! It seems that many of the qualifiers have only two or three players. I don't know if they play a match if there are only two. I wouldn't think so, since both are already qualified to play in Vegas. I went to the first qualifier they had in my area, and was pleased with the 14 players who showed up, of which 10 were from out of state. It was nice to see a different group of players. That was in July. A couple weeks ago they had another qualifier. I hoped for another decent turnout, and another whole weekend spent at the poolhall. They had three players and I did not even bother going to the pool hall that weekend. It is really too bad for the pool halls and the spectators when only a few people sign up- most I think have free entries from past qualifiers.

I have gone to all of the qualifiers in the LA area - it's free to watch. Jillilan's in Pasadena was too small for sweaters and there were only a couple that didn't come with a player. As players were eliminated they and their sweaters left. Jillian's is now not have any more qualifiers.

Last week I went to the Hardtimes to see Gandy Valle from the Pilippines for the first time - he went undefeated.

This week there's Gary's in Victorville a bit far to drive just to sweat - I'll check out the lineup on Friday morning to see who shows up and decide then.

In another thread below, there are fans in the Philippines that say that Efren and Busta got their Reno checks late Sept. but are waiting for them to clear.

The BreakRAK Company was asked, just this morning, if we wanted to attend the IPT Tournament in Chicago, as a Vendor. I replied that I will have to wait & see how things pan out, before committing.

If anyone shows up and puts money into these qualifiers they either have too much money or they need to have their head examined.

Soon we will see the draw for at least some of the venues.

I know that there are more players in these qualifiers than in the previous ones!!!

What do you think about that?

Roy, I'd have to agree with Jimmy M. (no relation).

List please

Where do you find the list of players that are attending (playing) in these tournaments??

No list, but I got some numbers from a couple of tournaments, and between 6 - 9 people were registered on those....

Guess the draw for Norway, Sweden, Croatia, England and perhaps Japan is ready in a few hours.

Actually we have got one player from Japan at the poolhall right now, he decided to go to Norway because he thought it would be easier to play here this weekend than in Japan!

It shows some peoples interest and willingness to take a gamble, but is not an indicator of the health of the tour. The money from those qualifiers is insignificant. If you go back and listen to some of the earliest speeches by KT he talks about "50, 60, 80, players playing in hundreds of qualifiers, "this thing is going over the top". I think he actually in his little pointed head believed this would happen. A couple of dozen world wide, if that, is meaningless.

Even in one of his most recent speeches KT talks about the $5.95 monthly fee and getting hundreds of thousands of subscribers. That would by it's self pay the prize money and again, I think he actually believed it. On paper he had it figured out but reality is different. Sometimes when you listen to him, and some of the speeches are still on the web site, he actually sounds crazy.

If you ever saw the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks there is a scene where he pitches a toy to the board. He goes on and on and it gets more and more exciting. Then at the end someone asks, "How much will it cost to make". They all begin to look at each other and realize the idea is crazy, they just got caught up in the pitch. KT has a very good pitch.
