Qualifier Nos. 21-25 Bringing in the Champions!

I am the storm
Silver Member
Imrad Majid won the IPT qualifier in London, and his buddy IPT Member Raj Hundal won all four challenge table matches to the tune of $4,000 in his pockets. Nice score!

Veteran Roadster James Walden won the IPT qualifier in Tulsa, OK.

Vegas has the biggest field, and there are some very tough players in the mix. I noticed a player named Thanh Hao was getting ready to play Ronnie Alcano next round and am wondering if this is Tang Hoa from California.

David Hemmah got shot down by Young Gun Jesse Bowman, 10 to 8, but David is still in this tournament in the losers' bracket and can get there.

What in the world is going on in Florida at Capone's in Spring Hill? Looking forward to some updates from some AzB-ers who may be in attendance, pretty please!

Akron is on hold until tomorrow, with Ronnie Wiseman joining Mika Immonen's brother Kari on the B side of the charts.

It's getting exciting to see WHO's going to make it to Vegas to compete in the $2-million purse at the Venetian. To date, top players around the world have taken notice and want very much to be a part of the IPT experience. I can't wait to see who gets their foot in the door tomorrow when Qualifier Nos. 21-25 come to an end!

Here's a picture taken at last year's U.S. Open of two players on the left who are the pride of California, David Hemmah and Tang Hoa, posing with IPT Member Rodney Morris by way of Hawaii, California, and now Florida!

Meanwhile, back in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rafael Martinez is sitting in the third-place spot, waiting for his next victim. If he wins this next match, he's got the second qualifier from Tulsa.

Here's a very happy-looking James Walden, posing with Keith McCready, taken as last year's U.S. Open. I'll bet he's smiling just like he is in this picture right about now. :D

Congratulations to German player Michael Schmidt who just won the first qualifier in Akron, Ohio, at Jillian's. The spectators said he made few mistakes and played well.:)

The second qualifier is still up for grabs at the time of this writing. Jeff Beckley, Ronnie Wiseman, Takenaka Hiroshi, another Japanese player, and Tommy Stephenson remain in the qualifier tournament.

Robb Saez won the IPT qualifier at Capones in Spring Hill, FL on the winners' side of the charts. Wow, that's great news. Better late than never, Robb. Good going, Kid! :)

Right now, Keith Bennett and Richard Broumpton is playing their match on the B side of the chart. The winner gets the second IPT qualifier to attend the upcoming tournament in Las Vegas.

This is getting VERY EXCITING!

That's a tough one to call Jam. Can't call either one of them the loser.

That's so true, ARM9BALLER. Keith Bennett, like Robb Saez, has competed in several IPT qualifiers, trying to get his foot in the door for the $2-million-purse tournament in Vegas. He wants to win with every ounce of his being. He's a nice kid, and I wish him good luck. He's so close. Of course, Richard Broumpton is a worthy contender himself. May the best man win!

Congratulations to Filipino Ronnie Alcano for winning the first qualifier up for grabs in Las Vegas. At the time of this writing, the second qualifier selection is still uncertain, as A. Lining and M. Trainer are in a match which is in progress.

BEST of all, I am so happy to see RONNIE WISEMAN win one of the Akson, OH qualifiers. This was very, very good to read.

En route to the playoff for the qualifier win, Canadian Ronnie Wiseman was playing Jeff Beckley, and it went to the double hill. This was Wiseman's last chance to qualify for the upcoming Vegas event, and he has already competed in several qualifiers, hoping to make the cut.

Ronnie breaks and runs a couple balls and then gets hooked on the 5. He kicks at it, pockets it, but then leaves himself bad again. After studying the brutal layout before him, Ronnie had to pull a shot out of his bag of tricks and kick again, and if he missed, the party was over, as Beckley would have sailed on in to play Tommy Stephenson for the qualifier win.

Ronnie fires at it and again makes an excellent kick shot. He's almost home free when, lo and behold, he gets a bad leave on the 8-ball. The tension was thick, and Ronnie was sweating bullets. He maintained his composure, took a deep breath, and made an incredible rail-to-rail backward cut on the 8-ball for the almighty win. The next match, there was no looking back as Ronnie sailed to the finish line, 10 to 5. GREAT WIN for Ronnie Wiseman. See you in Vegas, baby!

As the 25 qualifier rounds come to a close, I must say it was very exciting following the coverage on the IPT website. I enjoyed reading the commentaries and seeing the pictures. Great job to all who were involved in making these 25 qualifiers happen, the IPT staff for their dedication, and, of course, the players themselves who stepped up to the plate.:)

I too would like to congratulate Ronnie Wiseman.
I was in Detroit for several days back in May and Ronnie was working hard on his game and practicing 8 ball everyday. I'm happy for him. Good things happen to people who keep a good attitude and work hard.

Congrats ...

to James Walden for winning the qualifier in Tulsa. I just talked to him about 2 months ago about the IPT and the qualifiers encouraging him to
take his shot.

Does anyone know if anything has ever got back to him after getting his
car and cues stolen in Arkansas?

nice cue

He wasnt using his Schon. I was told he was given a G Szamboti to play with. Nice replacement. He played very strong 8-ball in Tulsa.
