Qualifier Update Thread for Long Island

Is there a list of invitees for this year's? I recalled something similiar happened last year.

Congrats to Bob Madenjian he is the first qualifier !!!! He beat Chris Lynch 100-81.

Chris is waiting for the losers side to catch up and waits in the loser's side final.

Congrats to all who are playing. Bob Madenjian is a world class player and Tom Walter deserved the invite, long time world class player. Nice tournament, my ol buddy Dave Hacket showed up as well from the south shore boston, glad to see him out and playing.

Chris Lynch has done it he took the other qualifier spot away from Holden Chin.

Congrats to Bob and Chris and I with the best of luck to all the players who go to the Amsterdam qualifier.

Well played, Bob and Chris. Looking forward to cheering you on at the main event.

Congrats to both, and to Charlie for running what I hear was a great event.

Chris has been playing great so we're all looking forward to watching him do some damage at the tournament...

Congrats on your Tournament. Sounds like it was a good one.
Can you give us some information of high runs. Not only the high run of the tour. but other runs to give us idea how the matches went.

What a bunch of great matches yesterday!! Glad i was able to go down and watch in that beautiful new room!! Congrats to everyone who played you all did a hellova job!! congrats to the qualifiers!

First and Foremost A special thank you goes out to Charlie Eames for all the hard work he did to host this event and a great job he did making sure it went off without a hitch.

Here's my take on the two matches I played.

My first match was against Dave Hackett, I started of very shaky. Played very tense, as soon as I started to loosen up I got a few bad rolls. One of which was a strange scratch on a break shot. And the other was on a bad leave on another breakshot. Table was playing lightning fast with alot of slide. I lost that match 100-58. Dave played a great game, very solid patterns and a very fluid stroke !

My second match was against Jude Rosenstock, who I had the privilege of playing in the semi finals with him last year where I lost 100-96.

I played this match alot more relaxed, I started off with a nice little run of about 25 or so, then we had some nice little safe battles. Then we went back and forth exchanging turns pocketing balls and so on. Jude played pretty solid and regained the lead. In the end when I needed only 9 more points I made a bad decission on a shot and got long position on a secondary breakshot instead of going more natural on three rail position.
I still went for the shot and missed enabling Jude back to the table with a wide open opportunity to regain the lead. In the end with Jude only needing 5 more points he missed giving me that one last chance. He left me in a tough position with only 3 balls on the table. One of them being a perfectly placed breakball.
So what do I do ?, I go for it and miss. I went down swinging, instead of just playing a safe. The situation got the best of me.
I lost 100-91

Congrats Jude on a real nail biter of a game. You played great !

Thanks to all the great players that signed up to showcase their great play. I really learned alot from watching you all play from the side rail of course.... Lol

Off To Amsterdam Next Saturday !

The nerves got you in that first match and the second match. You did very well for yourself against a very good player. I see he went on to beat some other players. You score 91 points and scored 96 against him last year. That is good playing.
Take all these opportunities to play in these great 14.1 tournaments in the region of the Country that you live. It will help you so much in time.
Those type of situations are so valuable when it comes to experience and learning how to deal with pressure.
Keep in the back of your mind the feelings you had and work on them.
You will learn positive things from all of this.
Keep up the good work.
