Quarter Pitching

Well, I stopped in at the Fast Eddie's here in lafaette and I seen two guys pitching to the head spot again. Yesterday, one of the guys was betting 100 a pitch. I am assuming he won yesterday because he was in here today pitching a different guy for 50 a pitch. This is the first time I have seen people doing this. I was just curious if anyone on here has seen guys pitching to the head spot before.

I haven't seen guys pitching quarters on a pool table, but I've seen guys draw a line with chalk on the concrete and pitch to the line.

Here in New Orleans, there are many people who enjoy pitching quarters for the cash. It must be a Louisiana thing....

Do you have a phone number for Fast Eddie's in Lafayette?
Thanks,

The Best

The best I have seen is Scotty Townsend....@ a tourney in Albany I watched him give a guy weight in order for the other guy to bet. Scotty would get 30 feet from the spot and the other guy could be 10 feet from the spot. Townsend took about $2000.00 off the guy before they stopped.

From 1960s-1970s, the best that I'd ever seen was Steve Beta in New Orleans. He may still be the best, but I haven't seen him pitch in recent years.
I've seen him throw four quarters across a room and make them land and STAY atop a round topped vinyl barstool. I was very good at tossing 'to the spot' and also bouncing quarters into an ashtray or a 'rocks glass' or even a shot glass placed on the spot. I once made 3 out of 4 in a shot glass, but could never repeat the feat.

DANNY GREER!!!! He is probably the best in the country. He lives in South Carolina. He can do amazing things with a quarter!!!!!! He will even bet on landing a quarter on a ceiling fan blade at slow speed. I have seen it and it is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He will also bet on throwing a quarter into the coin slot on a pay phone from ten feet away. How sick is that! I've seen him land a quarter on a wooden stool from all the way across the pool room. I've also pitched quarters with Scotty Townsend for $100 a throw in Atlanta. He was giving me 2 throws to his one. We broke even after about an hour of throwing.
Bruce Berrong is also very strong at pitching. He taught me how to throw and went in halves with me against a clown that was flipping the quarter in South Carolina one time. We won $1000 each off of him.

I have also witnessed a person throwing quaters into a pay phone. It was one of the most ridiculous things that I have seen people bet on. He tossed them into the slot without hessitation for the cash and made a killing. sick

sounds like some crazy stuff anyone got video? especially throwing a quarter into a pay phone from 10 feet away sounds almost unbelievable

The hole....which Albany??????? if Albany NY any idea who the player was??????????mike

The best i have ever seen would have to be Alex P.....saw him take down Corey Duell in 9 ball at q-masters and then head back to the Open venue. When i got there about 15 minutes after him he had already beat 1 guy out of 1k and was working on the 2nd guy and was up about 600. They were pitching closest to the wall just outside the wall where everybody stands to have a smoke. Those that have been to the open know where i am talking about........mike

A friend of mine knows to make that quarter die on the felt.
I couldn't believe it the first time I saw him do it.

Albany, Ga.
Scotty is a classic, at one of my uncle's bar, he was sitting at the bar PULLING HIS OWN TOOTH when a guy came in wanting to play someone. Scotty jumped up to play him and the guy thought he was easy money. COME ON, some drunk bum sitting at the bar pulling his own tooth HAS TO BE easy money right??
He is my uncles favorite player.

I find even more unbelievable that poker player (Jesus something) who slices carrots with a playing card. I've seen that video and if he can do that I have no problem believing people can throw quarters into a pay phone slot, though in this day and age they might have difficulty finding a pay phone slot.
