Quest Custom Made Cues

I think someone bought a whole bunch of cues from China or the Phillipines, designed a website with some nice retail-prices, and then put them on e-bay for what looks like a very low price, but I think you're still paying twice the actual price. I might be mistaken though. For that price the inlays almost can't be real, maybe there are one or two real inlays, so they can say "the inlays are real" the rest is probably decals.

Search still has some old auctions...

Seems that these were listed on Ebay before as stated below:

Quest Inlaid IS12 Custom Billiard Pool Cue Stick New NR. This seller accepts PayPal,
- Buy It Now, $125.00 $135.00, $16.00, Feb-08 11:56 ...

Couldn't find a website for Quest cues, but didn't search too hard either.

Remember you get what you pay for in most cases.

From their warranty page:

100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

If you purchase a Quest cue and are not fully satisfied with it, you may return it, undamaged within 10 days, for a full refund. Don’t be concerned about chalking the tip. You have to play with the cue to give it anything more than a cosmetic appraisal.

You read that right, you can chalk the cue and play with it and return it if you don't like it, apparently for any reason.

Seen their site, and where exactly in the orient?
I'm from the PI's and there are foreigners here who go to Angeles City and buy a bunch of cues from cuemakers and cueshops there and sell it overseas or in the US...

Has any one had dealings with this ebayer, and/or used one of their cues.

I can't believe the prices of them, and this makes me hesitate to go any further, but an inlayed cue with 2 shafts for $100! Have a look yourself at
http://stores.ebay.com/Quest-Cue-Sticks

I had 2 at one time. Gave one away. Not sure if
inlays are real. Tips suck. I put a moori on it
and now stick is well worth the $115 I paid.
( I bought their best of line). Very solid hit.

I puchased a Quest cue from Ebay about a year ago. I was enticed with the price and the claim to be cue that retailed for $800. I recieved the cue and was very disapointed to find that the cue had a flaw in one of the floating points. I contacted the seller and he agreed to replace the cue. I sent back the first cue and about a week later I recieved the replacement. After looking over the cue I found that this cue not only had a problem with one of the inlayed points again, but one of the layered tips had been cut in half.

I decided that even though I hadn't spent a lot of money on the cue I couldn't live with such poor fit and finish. I am always looking for a good deal but in my opinion with Quest cues you get what you pay for; and for a hundred bucks you cannot expect a lot.

If you are looking for an inexpensive playing cue I reccomend buying a Dufferin sneaky pete.

They are just Taiwan and China import cues with a Quest decal. Decent, cheap cues, but Lucasi has better quality control. Some of their cues are real inlays and some have decals ("transfers"). Originally, they were out here in North Hollywood.

Thanks for the responses, I felt that this was the case. I'm happy with my lucasi, and for $130 the build is great, and shots JUST FINE. I'll save up some more and get a better shaft instead.
