question about gc3

A friend of mine wants to sell a gc3. I will post this in the for sale section also.Bought in the 90's for $10k. Little use. Belonged to his father inlaw who passed away last year. What is it worth. According to my friend it is in excellent condition.

First of all, never sold new for $10,000...I bought plenty of them for my pool rooms in the 90's for $2,375 each. Today's value is about $2,500 if in excelent condition...and that's providing the cushions don't need to be replace as most all the GC3's had bad cushions.

I know of a perfect one that has been refelted 3 time with the newer Artemis cushions installed selling here in the Bay Area for $1500
 
You will need to find the right buyer. Seven years ago when I wanted to sell a GC1.5 the market was more or less zero around here and I ended up leaving it in the house when I moved out. Take an offer of $2000 immediately. Think about $1000, depending on how soon it needs to be gone. I talked to a local dealer who said it was very hard to compete when brand new slate tables sell for under $1500. (The quality of those tables was such that he would not touch them for after-sales repairs -- too many return calls.)

I also can't believe that it was $10k new. Maybe something got lost in the translation. Or Pops was treated very, very badly by the salesman.
