Hi cue makers, first of all I love you all.
So, I have a Mike Gullyassy butt, which is a 3/8x10 made, ok, so whenever I order a brand new shaft either from Japan or from America stores, I ask for that specific pin 3/8x10, everytime it is shipped to me and I try to insert it, actually it doesn't go in, it seem to me that the shafts that are coming are a bit smaller, the hole itself seem smaller, so what I do is take that shaft to a cue workshop nearby and I ask the guy to actually make the hole a bit bigger without losing the threads inside, so I'm not sure if that changes the named "3/8x10" but it works like that, whenever they make the hole bigger, I insert the shaft with Mike's butt and they fit perfectly.
To my second point of the question, I once received a mezz shaft that says "Wavy" underneath it, which is a joint, not sure of its size, but when I insert it to my Mike's butt, it fitted, a bit tight, but it screws all the way and feels tight but good.
So my thread question is, what exactly is wavy and how is it related to 3/8x10, and why is it fitting mike's butt, let me try and rephrase it again, are the Wavy joint a threads actuallyjust like 3/8x10 but bigger in hole size? So if this is the case, am I better off ordering Wavy shafts instead of ordering 3/8x10 and then going to workshop to ask and make the hole bigger?
Thanks! I know long question, but I'm trying to explain it good.
