Question about leveling a Diamond pool table

Hello,
I have a 9ft diamond Pro-Am ball return table. It was leveled by a mechanic a few weeks ago. But since it is sitting on a carpet, it is a little bit off-level now, and I want to do it myself. Here is a picture of the table I am talking about.

When I get down there, there is a small window on each leg, so you can put your wrench in. You can see 2 nuts on a threaded rod. The bottom nut is sitting on a big block of metal (I guess the rod is running through this metal?). I am not sure what is above the top nut. So I am a bit confused here. How does this system work? What does the top nut do? Should I hold the top nut while turning the bottom nut (because sometimes I see the 2 nuts turn together)? Anyway, what's the right way to do it? Any help is appreciated!
The other thing is, the table should have a wedge leveling system underneath the slate. But they don't seem to be used. When I get down there, I can see those screws. But they are loose, and I can turn them with my hand. I guess they are not used, because this is a one-slate table?

Thanks,
Tang

The leg levelers are opposite of what you are thinking. The bottom nut is a lock nut onto the bottom leg block, which it wood by the way. The top nut is the adjustable one. Take a 3/4" wrench and turn that clockwise to raise the corner.

As far as the wedge leveling system under the slate, some times some of the levelers are not needed. There will be some that should be tight, but sometimes not all are used. Did you get the table new from Diamond, or used?

Diamond leg levelling nuts

If both of the nuts are moving inside of the levelling window then you have a slight problem.

Some one who doesn't know how the legs work has turned the bottom nut and loosened it. This bottom nut is the lock nut for the threaded rod, and should never be turned for table levelling.

First, lower the bottom nut all the way down until it tightens against the washer and the levelling block. Sometimes this requires the use of 2 wrenches, one on each nut.

After you get the bottom nut resecured then you will be able to level the table with the top nut!!

Good Luck

Thanks man! This is a used table. I think now I have the 4 legs leveled pretty well. Wherever I put the level meter, the bubble is always in the middle. But the slate still seems a little bit off-level at some point. If I slow roll the cue ball diagonally, from one corner pocket to the other, it always rolls off when it gets close to the destination pocket. I attached a picture below to show exactly how it rolls off. It only happens on that one corner pocket. But I can't really raise that leg any more. I actually tried that, but I just made everywhere else un-leveled. So I guess this is a slate leveling problem. I checked the wedges underneath, they are all loose. Non of them seems to have been used at all. So if the problem is as described in the picture, what should I do? Should I tighten a few wedges underneath that long rail? Or should I tighten some wedges under the short rail as well? Since the rail is now sitting firmly on the slate, should I loosen the rail bolts first before I mess with the wedges? Any suggestion is appreciated!
