Question about my New Mezz Joint

I just noticed that the joint on my new Mezz cue seems slightly off (pics provided). Is this typical? The cue rolls straight and seems to play fine. I bought the cue straight from Mezz at the SBE. The pics make the cue seem curved but I guess that's just because of the lens. It's straight.

Should I be concerned about this or am I just being anal?

I did write Mezz about it and they told me this was typical since it's not the cues original shaft (Hybrid II vs WD700).

Thanks for helping out a newbie.

Mezz is generally extremely precise with the fitting of their shafts,
however when you exchange one there can be very small differences.
From what I can see in your pictures yours is well within what I would call acceptable.
You will find most (production) cues do not have such a close fit with the original shaft.

Thanks Dave.

Yeah they get everything very close to begin with, but when you get a secondary shaft it will likely not fit as precise because it hasn't been fine blended to mate with the butt like the original has. It'll still be close, just not exact.

You would think with all the money they have a second op lathe dedicated for that job.
